Dear Heavenly Father; help me to see everything the way You see it Lord. I begin to feel sorry for myself convincing my mind that I am the only one that has gone through the things that I am going through, thinking that You have abandoned me, Lord that You are disregarding me. Lord I am sorry all of these are issues in my mind that are making so I do not see all the great irrefutable things You have done for me. Lord eradicate these reservations that I allow to creep into my mind, surround me with all of Your fortifications not allowing these uncertainties to become part of my thoughts or part of my existence. In Jesus Name Amen

There are days when we have convinced ourselves that everything just sucks, it would just be easier to not care and just be who we used to be. Why would we want to do that, times of self-pity, doubt, fear, isolating ourselves, walking around in a stupor. If we look back to what we had was it really always that good? Was a second of self-gratification fulfilling enough to say “that was worth it”? You see God knows what we are going through that is why He, through the bible, has given each one of us directions on how to deal with what we have going on. When we go into self-pity mode He tells us: to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, Ephesians 4:22 ESV When Doubt is creeping in He tells us: the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:6 ESV And when fear has convinced us that there is no way we can do it He lets us know that: Fear and intimidation is a trap that holds you back. Proverbs 29:25 (TPT) We will make so that we become more and more isolated and begin to convince ourselves that its right and begin to blame everyone else: Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment. Proverbs 18:1 ESV When we walk around in this stupor we fail to see or understand what God is doing for us: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.” Romans 11:8 ESV . Sometimes it is so difficult not to over emphasize the environment that we have landed in. It has the tendency to make so we put up a shield that we think is the best way to protect ourselves. By doing this we are listening to those little suggestions that are being whispered in our ears. If we would always keep our focus on God instead of all of the distractions that come our way it will help solve a lot of the problems that we face. If we enter every situation with love, even when it seems impossible, it will shield us (Gods shield) from loads of heartache.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 ESV No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17 ESV He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place the Most High, who is my refuge no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. ”Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Psalm 91:1-16 (ESV)

So you ask; “How do I do this”? The best way to do this is to get to know Jesus. Read your bible, find a church that follows the bible, make some friends that are believers so that you can have a support system. In the bible God tells us how: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints. Ephesians 6:10-18 ESV

You’ve already put in your time in that God-ignorant way of life, partying night after night, a drunken and profligate life. Now it’s time to be done with it for good. Of course, your old friends don’t understand why you don’t join in with the old gang anymore. But you don’t have to give an account to them. They’re the ones who will be called on the carpet—and before God himself. 1 Peter 4:3-4 MSG

Have you ever had those moments, even weeks, where all you want to do is scream at God and say why; why are you doing this to me. I think if we are honest with ourselves we can all say yes, these times make us feel like God hates us. We need to remember God does not hate us He sent His son to save us from the ultimate punishment hell. When we feel like there is to much for us to bear start counting all of the good things that He has done for you and praise Him. When we praise God, setting our thought and mind on Him, we push out the thoughts of negativity and focus on God instead of focusing on ourselves it will change your mind set. We are not the only ones that have dealt with attacks Paul and David did also and this is what they told us: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 ESV Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14 ESV Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. Psalm 34:19-20 ESV

Since Christ, though innocent, suffered in his flesh for you, now you also must be a prepared soldier, having the same mind-set, for whoever has died in his body is done with sin. So live the rest of your earthly life no longer concerned with human desires but consumed with what brings pleasure to God.1 Peter 4:1-2 TPT

Ask Don’t Get Tossed

Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You needing direction and understanding. I am here without blame, accusation and without reservation Lord. Please give me wisdom and empathy to see the path that You want me to travel, to accept Your answer no matter what it is knowing that it is Your will. In Jesus Name Amen

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:5-6 ESV

Call on Him

Dear Heavenly Father, please take this overwhelming weight from me please surround me with the wall of fire You talked about in Zechariah 2:5 And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst. Lord rebuke all of these attacks, doubts and fear. Hide me in the shadow of your wings Lord. Thank you for your protection and always putting up with me. In Jesus Name Amen.

On the River

As our relationship with God grows more and more every day and the more we depend on Him we will learn that we can trust Him in everything that we do. When we trust the Holy Spirit to be our guide we are reassured that He will never guide us down the wrong path. When we float along this river He will guide us through every set of rapids we have to navigate and give us the strength needed to face it without hesitation.

Temptation

Last…..

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”  But He answered and said, “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: He shall give His angels charge over you and In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, you shall not tempt the Lord your God.” Again the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, “you shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Mark 4:1-11

While Jesus was in the wilderness He was fasting, let’s consider what exactly fasting is. The Definition of a fast is quite simply not eating food for a personal set amount of time. The Christian view of a fast takes it a little further; it is a time to abstain from anything distracting you from keeping your eyes on God’s will, humbling yourself before God. It is a time to pray and for repentance looking into ourselves and asking for God’s direction. Daniel was a man focused on what God wanted him to do, he would fast to understand what God wanted. This is what Daniel would do: At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks.  I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over. Daniel 10:2-3 Isaiah puts it this way after some had fasted and made fasting into a show and tried to garner personal gain: Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the Lord?  “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?  Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? Isaiah 58:5-7 Jesus also gave directions for fasting: “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Matthew 6:16-18 Isaiah and Jesus were scolding the people that were being addressed because they were focused on themselves. Through what not to do gives us a view of having a closer relationship with God. Daniel would do everything he could to remove distractions that would cause him to loose focus on God.

Repent

I’ll tell you what to say and you’ll say it. Don’t be afraid of a soul. I’ll be right there, looking after you.” God reached out, touched my mouth, and said, “Look! Nothing in Vain

I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. 12 “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.13-14 “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you. When the Lord pours out a remarkable spirit of prayer, it is a good sign that he is coming toward us in mercy. Promises are given to quicken and encourage prayer. He never said, Seek me in vain. Matthew Henry’s concise commentary

Dear Heavenly Father, be our guide showing us every step that we need to take. Give us the wisdom and hope that we need to see the future you have planned for us. Give us the heart to become seekers and the understanding to interpret the knowledge that You place in front of each one of us. Lead us through this process helping us become a stronger family than we have ever been. In Psalm 117:2 we are told For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Thank you Lord In Jesus Name amen

Trust is Faith

Dear Heavenly Father, guide every step I take because I know if You are in the lead I will never be guided down the wrong path. Help me to see the way You want me to go so that I do not make the wrong decision, with so many trails to travel I sometimes get blinded by all of the flash and glitz. Just show me the route that You desire me to take. In Jesus Name Amen

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Pray Always

Jesus gave us directions on how to pray:
Matthew 6:5-13 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.  But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

Pray without ceasing. You do not have to go into a long drawn out speech a simple thank you lord, help lord, or you are awesome lord will do. When you have more to ask just talk, he can hear you! When I talk to him I start with Dear Heavenly Father, Others use Father God, still others start by saying Jesus it does not matter how you start as long as you pray. While praying remember how would you talk to a friend; relaxed, with love, with respect? Remember he already knows what we need all we have to do is ask He want us to Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Believe that He will take care of you: James 1:5-6 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. It takes humility to ask for what we need, when we go in front of him with humility and respect he will be there with his arms wide open. Always remember to thank Him praise Him in everything In Jesus name Amen!
