Judging others!

Something that God has always put on my heart, it that it is in our human nature to judge others. I think sometimes we do it to make ourselves feel better to some how justify the things that we do not like. Man he is ugly, she is so fat, why did they do that it is so wrong I would never do that, they are so stupid I could go on. We are guilty of these malicious statements in some form or matter. Do you realize that you are judging people by these statements? “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you”. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye”. John 7:1-5 NIV

What Gives you the Right?

This does not give us the right however to justify all that we do knowing what is wrong and proclaiming that it is right! We are told not to judge the world because they do not know, and why would we compare a dentist to an auto mechanic. The dentist and mechanic may both work on your grille, but the grille the dentist works on is in your mouth and the grille the mechanic works on is on your car. You cannot compare either one because they are different, one may know a little about the other but they are far from the same. So when you judge the world you simply can’t compare it.

Thoughts to Ponder

A few things to think about when we, yes I have done it to: Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? Romans 2:3 ESV Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? James 4:11-12 ESV “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. Matthew 7:1-5 ESV
