A Father Who Leads with Wisdom

Godly leadership requires more than strength; it requires wisdom. Dads are called to seek God’s direction so they can guide their families according to His truth.

 Bible Verse:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Every day dads face decisions that will affect their entire family. You’ll have choices that seem small, while you have to make other choices that have long-term consequences. God did not and never intended fathers to carry these responsibilities alone. He invites us with open arms to seek His wisdom.

When we look at the world it offers countless opinions about parenting, success, and family life. With all of that “knowledge” God’s Word still remains the most reliable guide. When dads seek God’s wisdom through prayer and Scripture, they will gain clarity and direction.

Wise, strategic, and humble  dads understand they do not know everything. Instead, they unpretentiously depend upon God. This dependence not only benefits their own lives but teaches their children where true wisdom can be found.

Thought to Ponder:
When facing important decisions, do I seek God’s wisdom first or rely primarily on my own understanding?

Journal Prompt:
What family decision or challenge do I need to place before God in prayer today?

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, give me the wisdom to lead my family according to Your will. Help me trust Your guidance, leadership and counsel above my own understanding and help me to follow Your direction faithfully. In Jesus Name Amen.
