My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God’s law, I will also forget your children.


This is a sobering warning about the danger of rejecting God’s truth. The verse says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,” revealing that spiritual ignorance can lead to ruin, confusion, and separation from God. This lack of knowledge is not simply the absence of information, but the refusal to know and obey God’s ways. The verse especially addresses leaders who failed to teach truth faithfully. This verse reminds believers today of the importance of studying Scripture, seeking wisdom, and living by God’s Word so that lives, families, and communities can be guided by truth and protected.
