Written by About 100 gallons of diesel spilled over the side of a bridge after a semi-truck accident in Nevada County, threatening nearby wildlife, state officials said. CDFW Two “saddle tanks” on a semi-truck ruptured in a vehicle crash near Floriston on Friday, releasing about 100 gallons of diesel over the side of a bridge at the collision site, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife wrote in a social media post Monday.
The CDFW’s Office of Spill Prevention and Response crew responded to the collision to investigate whether any fuel had entered the Truckee River running under the bridge. After the spill response crew cleaned the area, they determined that no diesel reached the river and no “oiled wildlife” was found, CDFW announced Monday.
