Nearly 300,000 Hyundai vehicles have been recalled due to a defect that could cause seat belt anchors to fail. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the defective seat belt anchors in approximately 290,000 Hyundais could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Four Hyundai models are impacted by the recall: Ioniq 6, the Genesis G-90, as well as the Santa Fe and Santa Fe Hybrid. The recall affects vehicles between model years 2023 and 2026. Hyundai dealers will inspect the seat belt anchors free of charge and replace them if necessary. Owners should receive letters in the mail about this in June. Owners can contact Hyundai customer service at (855)-371-9460 and be prepared to share the last four digits of their vehicle’s identification number.
