“And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Devotion: God’s peace is not just blanket for comfort, it guards. This peace is like a sentry at the door, a peace that stands watch over your heart and mind. When fear tries to enter this peace reminds us that God is still in control. This guarding peace is not earned; it is received as we trust Him.
Reflection: What thoughts need God’s peace to guard today?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for always being my guide when I do not know what way to turn. Let Your peace stand guard over my thoughts and emotions today. In Jesus Name Amen

Devotion: The world offers peace that depends on circumstances, when things are going good, peace stays; when they don’t, the peace disappears. Jesus offers a different kind of peace. His peace flows from who He is, not from what is going on around us. When we stay connected to Him, peace becomes a settled confidence rather than a fragile feeling. Peace I leave withyou; my peace I give to you.Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.John 14:27
Reflection: Where have you been looking for peace outside of Christ?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I receive the peace You give, not the peace the world tries to offer. Lord, guide me in the right direction and be the light for the paths in front of me. In Jesus Name Amen

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Devotion: Anxiety is a form of misplaced focus. Paul does not condemn anxious thoughts, instead he redirects them. With every anxious thought becoming an invitation to pray. By bringing our fears to God, we shift the burden from our shoulders to His. Prayer is not a way to ignore reality; it places our reality in God’s hands.
Reflection: What anxiety do you need to turn into prayer today?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for being the One that I can depend on when everything seems to be falling apart. I bring You what I’ve been worrying about instead of carrying it alone. Be the light in the darkness. In Jesus Name Amen

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Devotion: Have you ever noticed that fear will only grow louder when we live constantly connected to the noise of this world. Watching the News, the differing opinions, and the endless updates can quietly shape our hearts more than we realize. If we read the red letters in the Bible we can see that Jesus never promised a trouble-free life. However, He did promise victory while walking through it when in the middle of it. Peace begins when we understand that the noise around us does not have the final word Christ does.
Reflection: What voices have been shaping your thoughts lately?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, please help me recognize the voices that stir fear in my heart. Help me block out the noise and teach me to listen more closely to Your voice of truth and peace. Thank you for being my guide. In Jesus Name Amen

Scripture:Isaiah 33:6 There will be stability in your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of God is your treasure
Devotional Thought: The Bible tells us that God Himself is the stability we need for our times. We never have to wait for life to settle down before trusting Him. We have to anchor ourselves in Him beforehand.
As we approach Sunday, prepare your heart to hear what God wants to reinforce in your life.
Reflection: Where do you need God to be your stability right now?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, please anchor my heart in You. Prepare me to receive Your Word and trust You fully. Thank you Lord for everything that you do. In Jesus Name Amen

Scripture:Hebrews 12:25-29 See that you don’t refuse him who speaks. For if they didn’t escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven, whose voice shook the earth then, but now he has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heavens.”
This phrase, “Yet once more” signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain. Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can’t be shaken, let’s have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,for our God is a consuming fire.
Devotional Thought: Everything we see, and around us in this world has an expiration date with only one exception the Kingdom of God. When earthly systems fail, governments, relationships, religions, and thoughts, God’s Kingdom will still be standing. We should not cling to fear because we belong to something eternal, something bigger, something that is everlasting.
Our gratitude grows when we remember what cannot be taken from us.
Reflection: How does belonging to God’s Kingdom reshape your outlook?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me a Kingdom that cannot be shaken or destroyed. Teach me to live with gratitude.”

Scripture:Matthew 7:24–27 “Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock.
Everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell—and its fall was great.”
Devotional Jesus reminds us that there are going to be storms that come to every house. He expresses the importance that there is not the absence of storms, but safety when we have the presence of a solid foundation. If there is to much shaking, there will be some, but it can reveal what we have built our lives on.
Now is the time to reinforce our foundation. We should not wait until after the storm passes.
Reflection: What has your faith been resting on lately?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, help me build my life on Your truth and not on these temporary flashy things. Thank you Lord for being the light to path and being a guide when I need it. In Jesus Name Amen

4 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling, 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in us all. 7 But to each one of us, the grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Therefore he says,
“When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to people.”
9 Now this, “He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.
11 He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error; 15 but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ, 16 from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.
This calls believers to live worthy of their calling through unity, humility, and love. Paul emphasizes spiritual gifts for building the body of Christ, promoting maturity, and equipping each member for service. Growth comes through truth, mutual encouragement, and faithful service, reflecting Christ in community.

This is known as the Great Commission, it gives Jesus’ final command to His followers. Believers are called to make disciples, not merely converts, by going, baptizing, and teaching obedience to Christ. This mission is global and ongoing. Jesus also promises His continual presence, assuring believers that they never fulfill this calling alone but with His authority and power.

8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, that no one would boast.
These verses explain that salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith, not earned by works. Human effort cannot secure redemption. This truth removes pride and fear, reminding believers that rescue comes from God alone. Faith responds to grace, it does not create it, leading to humility, gratitude, and confident assurance in Christ’s finished work.

5 Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. 2 Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
This calls believers to imitate God’s love, living as Christ did. True Christian life blends grace and sacrifice, reflecting God’s holiness through compassionate action. Walking in love is both a response to God’s mercy and a daily practice, shaping character, relationships, and the world around us.

12 For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.
14 Having then a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let’s hold tightly to our confession. 15 For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. 16 Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need.
This teaches that God’s Word is living and powerful, exposing our true thoughts and motives. Nothing is hidden from Him. Yet this exposure is paired with hope: Jesus is our compassionate High Priest who understands our weakness. Because of Him, believers are invited to approach God with confidence, receiving mercy for failure and grace for daily strength when we need it most.

12 Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. 2 Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
3 For I say through the grace that was given me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith. 4 For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don’t have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another, 6 having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us: if prophecy, let’s prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; 7 or service, let’s give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching; 8 or he who exhorts, to his exhorting; he who gives, let him do it with generosity; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good. 10 In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate to one another; in honor prefer one another, 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, 12 rejoicing in hope, enduring in troubles, continuing steadfastly in prayer, 13 contributing to the needs of the saints, and given to hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits. 17 Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. 19 Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 Therefore
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
21 Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
This describes how believers live out the gospel daily. Paul calls Christians to offer their lives as living sacrifices, allowing God to transform their minds rather than conforming to the world. The chapter emphasizes humility, sincere love, service through spiritual gifts, and peace with others. Romans 12 shows that true worship is not only spoken, it is demonstrated through obedience, character, and Christlike love in everyday relationships.

“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I”
When you feel overwhelmed and your strength is gone, God does not look away. He sees the exhaustion that others have overlooked, the quiet fatigue of carrying burdens too long. The bible reminds us that when our hearts are overwhelmed, God lifts us to a higher place. You don’t have to climb your way back to regain strength; you only have to cry out. Know that weariness is not weakness, it is your signal to lean on God’s strength instead of your own. Today, be honest with yourself, be honest with God. He is not disappointed by your tiredness. He is near to it, and there for you.
Dear Heavenly Father, lift me above the noise. Help me to block out the noise, to ignore the chaos, and see things the way You see them. Take these overwhelmed feelings and place me under your pinions and renew me. Thank you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen

32 The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. 33 With great power, the apostles gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Great grace was on them all. 34 For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, 35 and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.
36 Joses, who by the apostles was also called Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, Son of Encouragement), a Levite, a man of Cyprus by race, 37 having a field, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
This highlights the early church’s unity and generosity. Believers shared possessions freely, ensuring no one lacked. Spirit-filled fellowship created a community marked by love, honesty, and sacrificial giving. This passage models selfless service, showing how God’s people reflect His heart through care, support, and tangible expressions of grace.

19 Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh, 21 and having a great priest over God’s house, 22 let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and having our body washed with pure water, 23 let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.
24 Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

12 Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant. 2 You know that when you were heathen, you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God’s Spirit says, “Jesus is accursed.” No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” but by the Holy Spirit.
4 Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord. 6 There are various kinds of workings, but the same God who works all things in all. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all. 8 For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 and to another workings of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of languages, and to another the interpretation of languages. 11 But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.
12 For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot would say, “Because I’m not the hand, I’m not part of the body,” it is not therefore not part of the body. 16 If the ear would say, “Because I’m not the eye, I’m not part of the body,” it’s not therefore not part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be? 18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired. 19 If they were all one member, where would the body be? 20 But now they are many members, but one body. 21 The eye can’t tell the hand, “I have no need for you,” or again the head to the feet, “I have no need for you.” 22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant modesty, 24 while our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part, 25 that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26 When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. When one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. 28 God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers? 30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret? 31 But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.
13 If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, 5 doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; 6 doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known. 13 But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
This teaches the balance of spiritual gifts and love. Chapter 12 emphasizes that God gives different gifts to each believer for the good of the whole body, showing that unity thrives in diversity. Chapter 13, the “love chapter,” explains that without love, gifts are meaningless. True Christian service flows from love, which is patient, kind, humble, and enduring. Spiritual gifts are tools; love is the heart. Serve others guided by love, reflecting Christ in every action.

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death. 3 For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; 7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God, for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be. 8 Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his. 10 If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. 15 For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us. 19 For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. 23 Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? 25 But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.
26 In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. 27 He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God.
28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified.
31 What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? 33 Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Even as it is written,
“For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This chapter proclaims life and freedom in Christ. There is no condemnation for those who belong to Him. The chapter celebrates the Spirit’s power, adoption as God’s children, victory over suffering, and unshakable hope. Nothing can separate believers from God’s love revealed in Christ Jesus.

14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him? 15 And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food, 16 and one of you tells them, “Go in peace. Be warmed and filled;” yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it? 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself. 18 Yes, a man will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
19 You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder. 20 But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? 21 Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected. 23 So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith. 25 In the same way, wasn’t Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.
This teaches that genuine faith reveals itself through action. Belief that never moves beyond words is empty. True faith works, obeys, and responds to need. Deeds do not earn salvation, but they demonstrate living faith transformed by God’s grace and power.

16 But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had sent them. 17 When they saw him, they bowed down to him; but some doubted. 18 Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
This records Jesus’ Great Commission. The risen Christ declares His authority and sends His followers to make disciples of all nations—baptizing, teaching obedience, and living on mission, assured of His constant presence until the end of the age.

3 If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.
5 Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 For these things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience. 7 You also once walked in those, when you lived in them, 8 but now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth. 9 Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, 10 and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator, 11 where there can’t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, or free person; but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
14 Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
17 Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
This calls believers to live from their new identity in Christ. Because our lives are hidden with Him, we are urged to set our minds on heavenly priorities, put to death sinful patterns, and clothe ourselves with Christlike character. Gratitude, love, and peace shape community life. God’s Word guides everything, and every action is done in Jesus’ name, reflecting transformation from the inside out.

“Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.”
This reveals God’s clear call to defend the vulnerable and rescue those who cannot protect themselves. Justice is not optional for God’s people, it is an act of obedience. When we stand for the weak, we reflect God’s heart and character. Faith is proven not only in words, but in action that upholds righteousness and protects the innocent.

And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”

6 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit. 26 Let’s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.
This contrasts the life led by the flesh with life led by the Spirit. Paul explains that believers face an internal conflict, but victory comes by walking daily in the Spirit. The works of the flesh lead to destruction, while the fruit of the Spirit reflects Christlike character. True freedom is not self-indulgence, but Spirit-empowered living that produces love, holiness, and transformed relationships.

20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.
This explains the heart of the Christian life: union with Christ. Paul declares that his old self is crucified, and Christ now lives through him. Life is no longer driven by self-effort, but by faith in Jesus. This verse teaches surrender, transformation, and identity, believers live daily empowered by Christ’s life, trusting the Son of God who loved them and gave Himself for them.

3 I thank my God whenever I remember you, 4 always in every request of mine on behalf of you all, making my requests with joy, 5 for your partnership in furtherance of the Good News from the first day until now; 6 being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. 7 It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, because both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace. 8 For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.
9 This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
This reveals Paul’s deep joy and pastoral heart. He thanks God for the believers’ partnership in the gospel and expresses confidence that God will complete His work in them. Paul prays for their love to grow in knowledge and discernment, leading to righteous lives that glorify God. This passage highlights gratitude, spiritual growth, and the assurance that God faithfully finishes what He begins in His people.

4 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 When he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward. 3 The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
4 But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.’”
5 Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written,
‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don’t dash your foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not test the Lord, your God.’”
8 Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 He said to him, “I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”
11 Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.
This recounts Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness, showing His steadfast obedience and reliance on God. After fasting forty days, He faced the devil’s challenges—appeals to physical need, pride, and power. Jesus resists each by quoting Scripture, modeling spiritual vigilance. This passage teaches believers to rely on God’s Word in trials, resist temptation with discernment, and trust God’s timing and provision. Christ’s example demonstrates that obedience and Scripture are our defense in spiritual battles.
