This verse records Satan tempting Jesus in the wilderness by misusing Scripture. He tells Jesus to throw Himself down from the temple, quoting Psalm 91 and claiming angels would protect Him. This reveals that even truth can be twisted when taken out of context. Satan wanted Jesus to test God instead of trust Him.
