The paychecks appear to have relieved severe congestion at airport TSA checkpoints, which resulted in hours-long lines at several major air hubs over the past two weeks but brought Congress no closer to resolving the standoff over the the DHS’s budget. “Most TSA employees received a retroactive paycheck today that included at least two full paychecks,” said Lauren Bis, the acting assistant secretary of public affairs at the DHS.
