A Father Who Stands Strong in Faith

Father and son hiking on a grassy hill path with a sunset over distant mountains

The world continually challenges fathers to compromise their values and convictions. God calls fathers to stand firm in faith and lead their families with courage.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Being a strong father does not mean you will never struggle. But strong fathers are those who remain faithful in the midst of struggle. Life can bring difficulties, disappointments, and unexpected challenges, but faith gives fathers the strength to persevere.

Children need to see a dad who trusts God when circumstances are uncertain, chaotic and messed up. They need to see prayer during difficult seasons, faith during trials, and hope during moments of discouragement. These faithful examples teach children where true strength comes from.

If you are standing firm in faith it does not mean you are being perfect. It means continually turning to God for strength, guidance, and courage. A father’s unwavering faith can become an anchor for his entire family.

As Father’s Day approaches, remember that the greatest gift you can offer your family is a life fully surrendered to Jesus Christ.

Thought to Ponder:
When my family observes my life, do they see confidence in God during difficult times?

Journaling Prompt:
What challenge am I currently facing that requires me to trust God more deeply?

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, strengthen my faith, lead every step I take,  and help me stand firm in every season and trials of life. Help so that my trust in You encourages and inspires my family to follow You committed, passionately, and wholeheartedly. In Jesus Name Amen.

A Father Who Loves Like God

Man and young girl holding hands walking on a dirt path in the countryside

A Dad’s love can leave a lasting imprint on a child’s heart. God calls dads to reflect His unconditional love through patience, grace, and compassion.

“Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14

Your unconditional love you have is one of the greatest gifts a father can offer his children. Yes, providing for their physical needs is important, children also need affection, encouragement, and emotional support. They need to know that they are valued, treasured, prized and cherished.

We have the best example, God demonstrates perfect love toward us. He forgives, disciplines, guides, comforts, and remains faithful even though we fail. Dads are called to reflect this same love within their homes. This means speaking words that build up rather than tear down, listening carefully, and extending grace when mistakes occur. A dad is doing his best to raise an adult that is ready for what life has to throw at them.

A loving dad will create an environment where their children feel secure and accepted. Through that love, children will gain a better understanding of God’s heart toward them. God has given you an opportunity to care, lead and love one of His children.

Thought to Ponder:
Do my words and actions consistently communicate love to my family?

Journaling Prompt:
What are three specific ways I can show Christlike love to my children this week?

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, teach me to love my family like You love me. Help me have the words, actions, and attitudes that reflect Your compassion and grace. Be my guide so that I can be your best representative to my family. In Jesus Name Amen.

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

This reminds us that our choices have consequences. God is not fooled by outward appearances, excuses, or hidden motives. Just as a farmer harvests what he plants, we will experience the results of the seeds we sow through our words, actions, attitudes, and priorities. When we sow selfishness, we reap emptiness; when we sow obedience, kindness, and faithfulness, we reap spiritual blessings and growth. This verse is both a warning and an encouragement, calling believers to live intentionally and trust that God sees every seed planted in faith.

The News Part 2

female spokesperson giving press interview outdoors
topless men in sport rivalry

Dear Heavenly Father, as I enter this day please give me the words that I need to share who you are and help me present your love to all that seriously need you Lord. Thank you for the awesome gifts that you have given me. In Jesus Name Amen

As we sit here being splashed with rainbows and the talk of love and acceptance being told we are the intolerable ones. We wonder where the love and acceptance is when as Christians we are getting bashed left and right. Pictures of people disrespecting the way we believe; yet telling us that we have to respect them. All the time wondering where the “love” everyone is talking about went. It gets kind of hard to be respectful, sometimes hard to share the true love that Christ commanded us to allocate. Jesus told us that this would happen and gave us directions on how to deal with it and how we should react.
John 15: 18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Jesus told us that people would not understand the way we believe:
Mark 4:11 “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables 12 so that, “they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!”
Matthew 13:14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. 15 For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.

He has been telling us this as far back as the Old Testament:
Isaiah 6: 9 He said, “Go and tell this people: “Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving. 10 Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

So if they do not understand what they are doing how can we figure that they will not do anything different then what they are doing: 2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

Satan is good at the lies that he presents when he disguises everything that is wrong as something that is good it makes us feel like the wrongs are right. He uses shame to keep others quiet, he uses our own fears and tries to make so we use our feelings as our guide.

That is why we need to pray: Philippians 4: 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And when you do this remember what was said: 1 Thessalonians 17 Pray without ceasing

God put together a guide (Holy Bible) for everything that we face on a daily basis the answers are in that guide. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

I know that looking around we see the lack of respect, the intolerance, hate, murders, rapes, stealing the list could keep going on and on. It is hard to not just sit back start pointing fingers and talking down to others or not have any interaction with society. The current surroundings can cause a sense of anxiety.

We are reminded that we are no better than anybody else a sin is a sin:
1 Corinthians 6: 7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. 9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

For us to put ourselves on a pedestal and act like we are better than anyone else is not what we are told. When Christ was on this earth he surrounded himself with sinners, the people that where considered the worst of the worst. He wants everybody to either know or to at least receive the opportunity to have that relationship with him. I know we all know that felling, we feel when some self-righteous person is standing over top of us pointing there finger acting like they are either better or know more than we do. It can happen anywhere work, play, you name it. We will shut down, ignore it, or get up and fight; this is human nature. This is what they feel we are doing to them right now, there have been people that are not using Gods message of Love, and they are letting their feelings guide them and not Gods.

As Christians we have now all been placed in the same category as the ones that are using their feelings and not Gods. But Christ did tell us:
Mark 2:17 “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

When we are standing here looking at the current events that surround us we need to STOP and take a deep breath. We need to remember that we are sinners too; we are guilty of doing things that do not please God.
1 John 1 :8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
God commanded us to love our neighbors and if we are replying to our neighbors in the same manner as they are we are not doing what we are told.

Remember Jesus said:
Mark 7 :20 “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come.

So how do you define yourself? Is it from Christ or is it from this world?

Always remember to love 1 Peter 3: 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

Dear Heavenly Father, as this is read give understanding and conviction to those reading this. May there be understanding where there needs to be understanding and conviction where there needs to be conviction. Please soften the hearts of those reading this and open them to receive Your message. In Jesus Name Amen

Over the last few days I have seen all of the fighting, the name calling, insults, character bashing and I wonder why. We as Christians and human beings are told that we should not return evil with evil: 1 Peter 3: 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

That is one definition of Respect. With that said I do not blame any of the uncertainties that there are out there. I will just say one thing and that is CAKE, we all know what happened. But we have been commanded: Romans 12: 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

I know that when we observe the respect that we are expected to give others yet receive disrespect in every manner that you can imagine, it gets disheartening. We are still told that 1 Peter 23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

We should always respond with meekness: Matthew 5: 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.

We have been instructed to follow in the footsteps that Jesus gave us, to walk on the path that he took. 1 Peter 21: 21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

There are two things that we should never forget, his commandments to LOVE one another: Matthew 22: 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. And with that said never forget: Luke 6: 31 Do to others as you would have them do to you. Jesus did not say these things were acceptable but he did say we need to Love everyone. Continue……

The Truth of What the Bible Says About Manipulation

abstract artistic blur portrait photography

In the complex reality of what we call human relationships, the Bible serves as a timeless guide, shedding light on various aspects of our interactions with others. One of these exchanges that warrants our attention is manipulation, a subtle and often destructive force that can infiltrate our interactions. Let’s take a look at what the Bible has to say about manipulation, exploring its consequences and the divine wisdom that points us towards genuine, loving relationships.

1. Deceptive Practices Exposed: The Bible unequivocally condemns deceptive practices and manipulation. In Proverbs 11:1 (NIV), we find a stark proclamation: “The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.” We can see that dishonest scales represent deceptive practices, and the Lord’s detestation is a clear warning against manipulation.

2. The Deceitful Heart: Jeremiah 17:9 (NIV) pierces through the layers of our intentions, revealing the core of the issue: “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” This verse gives us a sobering reminder of our human tendency to manipulate, driven by self-serving desires.

3. God’s Call to Honesty: Ephesians 4:25 (NIV) issues a direct call to abandon deceit and embrace honesty: “Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” Honesty is the remedy to manipulation, fostering genuine connections within the body of believers.

4. Warning Against Manipulative Words: Proverbs 26:28 (NIV) highlights how the danger of manipulation comes through words: “A lying tongue hates those it hurts, and a flattering mouth works ruin.” Manipulative words, that come through lies or flattery, lead to harm and ruin, disrupting the harmony God intends for relationships.

5. The Light Exposes Darkness: Ephesians 5:11 (NIV) encourages believers to expose the deeds of darkness: “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” Manipulation often thrives in the shadows, but the light of truth exposes its destructive nature.

6. The Model of Genuine Love: In 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 (NIV), the Bible presents a model of love that stands in stark contrast to manipulation: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” Genuine love, as depicted here, seeks the well-being of others and stands in opposition to manipulative motives.

Conclusion: As we navigate the complexities of relationships, the Bible serves as a guiding light, exposing the pitfalls of manipulation and steering us toward the path of honesty, genuine love, and authentic connections. Let us follow the wisdom of Scripture, fostering relationships that reflect the purity of God’s intentions for His children.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, You can see every heart and every hidden motive. You know the struggles we face with people who twist words, control situations, or try to lead us away from truth. Lord, give me wisdom and discernment to recognize manipulation when it appears. Guard my mind from confusion and our hearts from bitterness. Strengthen me to stand in truth with courage and humility. Help me to set healthy boundaries and not be controlled by fear, guilt, or pressure.

Teach me to respond with grace without surrendering the truth You have placed in our hearts. Fill me with Your peace so that the actions of others do not shake my faith or identity. Lord, if there are wounds caused by manipulation, bring healing and clarity. Replace anxiety with confidence in You. Surround me with wise counsel and faithful friends who encourage truth and righteousness. Above all, help me walk in love, but also in wisdom. Guide our steps, guard our hearts, and keep me anchored in Your truth. In Jesus Name Amen.

The Gospel Never Requires Sacrificing Our Children

congregation holding hands and praying

The mission of Jesus has never demanded that children be placed at risk. When protection is treated as optional, the church has confused faithfulness with negligence. The gospel is not advanced by endangering the innocent, it is betrayed.

Scripture:  Matthew 18:6; Psalm 82:3–4; 1 Corinthians 5:11–13; Acts 20:28; Proverbs 22:3; Psalm 127:3

Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression.

Source Unknown.

The mission of the church is clear: to proclaim the gospel and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18–20). However, the urgency to reach the lost must never come at the expense of our most vulnerable, the children entrusted to the church’s care. The bible emphasizes with unmistakable clarity: children are sacred, and any action that endangers them is a serious offense against God.

Jesus’ words in Matthew 18:6 illustrates the severity of this offense: “If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” He used imagery that is stark, emphasizing that harming a child spiritually or physically is not a minor mistake, it is a grave sin.

This is not the only time this principle is mentioned it is echoed throughout Scripture. In Psalm 82:3–4, God commands, “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Children, as the most vulnerable in a congregation, fall squarely within this command. Protecting them is not optional; it is a reflection of obedience to God.

The apostle Paul prioritizes the need for vigilance in 1 Corinthians 5:11–13, urging the church not to tolerate unrepentant sin among its members: “Do not associate with anyone who claims to be a believer but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.” Even though Paul’s focus is broader, the same principle applies when children are at risk: failure to confront harmful behavior is complicity. The safety of children is paramount, and the church must act decisively.

The Bible even stresses the daily discipline of leadership emphasizing accountability. Acts 20:28 prompts elders, *“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood.” Leadership is not meant to be ceremonial or symbolic, it comes with real responsibility for the protection and spiritual care of the flock. As a shepherd it is leadership’s responsibility to protect the flock from wolves and predators that mean harm. Children are among the most vulnerable members, and leaders who fail to safeguard them are failing to hold a central aspect of their calling.

Being astute and using practical measures are supported with biblical wisdom. Proverbs 22:3 states, “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” Proactivity when protecting children, through background checks, adult supervision, safety policies, common sense, and clear reporting procedures, is a biblical mandate. By ignoring risk it is not staying neutral; it runs the risk of exposing children to harm and the church to spiritual and moral failure.

Ultimately, the gospel is advanced through love, protection, and obedience, not through recklessness or negligence. Psalm 127:3 declares, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.” Our children are gifts, not tools for ministry or outreach experiments. Any church that compromises the safety of its children in the name of mission or growth is not following Christ faithfully.

The call for today’s church is clear: the mission to make disciples must be carried out in a way that never endangers the innocent. Making sure our children are protected is not a distraction from the gospel, it is a central expression of it. Faithfulness to Christ requires courage, vigilance, and unwavering commitment to the safety of those He treasures most.

Faithfulness requires unwavering courage. Leaders must shepherd well, families must remain vigilant, and the church must implement proactive safeguards. Ignoring risk, delaying action, or valuing reputation over protection is a failure of discipleship and leadership. They must listen to those in the Church as well to make sure they look into every accusation.

Finally, protecting children is not a side issue, something to put a pin in, it is central to living out the gospel. The church cannot claim to follow Christ while neglecting the vulnerable. True ministry reflects the heart of Jesus, who welcomed, defended, and valued children above all. A church that safeguards its children glorifies God, strengthens its witness, and ensures that the gospel reaches the world without compromise.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, You are our refuge and our defender. You see what is hidden, You know what is whispered, and nothing escapes Your sight. Today we come before You with humility and holy resolve, asking You to guard the children entrusted to our care.

Father, forgive us where fear, comfort, or reputation has silenced truth. Forgive us where we have delayed action instead of choosing righteousness. Cleanse Your church of negligence, compromise, and misplaced priorities. Restore in us a holy fear of the Lord that values obedience over appearance.

Lord Jesus, You welcomed children, blessed them, and warned sternly against those who would harm them. Let Your heart beat within Your church again. Raise up shepherds who protect, not predators who exploit. Give courage to leaders to act decisively, wisdom to parents to discern clearly, and boldness to the faithful to speak truth in love.

Holy Spirit, shine Your light into every dark corner. Expose what must be exposed. Heal those who have been wounded. Restore trust where it has been broken, and bring comfort to every child who has suffered in silence.

Make Your church a place of safety, purity, and refuge where the vulnerable are defended, the innocent are cherished, and the gospel is lived without compromise.

We declare that our children belong to You. We commit ourselves to protect them, to listen to them, and to stand guard over their lives with unwavering faithfulness. In Jesus Name Amen

III. Renewing Our Minds and Hearts for the New Year

A new year is not just about new goals, but a renewed inner life.

Scripture:

Just because it is a new year it does not mean that it automatically brings transformation; true renewal begins in the heart and mind. Romans 12:2 teaches that true change will come when our thinking is transformed by God’s truth. If we have not renewed our hearts and minds, we are destined to repeat the same cycles, habits, and struggles year after year no matter how good our intentions.

The prayer David spoke in Psalm 51 shows us where renewal begins: “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” Having a renewed heart leads us to renewed desires, renewed priorities, and renewed obedience. Through Christ, we become new creations, but daily renewal requires intentional daily surrender.

What we allow into our minds shapes our spiritual direction. God’s Word replaces lies with truth, fear with faith, and confusion with clarity. When we pray our hearts align with God’s will, not just our own wishes. When we commit to spiritual disciplines, Scripture, prayer, worship, we open ourselves to the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.

With a new year ahead, God is not merely calling us to do more, but to become more like Christ. When we renew our hearts and minds, our lives will naturally begin to reflect His will.

Thoughts to Ponder:

  • Transformation begins internally, not externally
  • God’s will becomes clear when our minds are renewed
  • Spiritual growth is intentional, not accidental

Application:

  • Commit to daily Scripture and prayer
  • Evaluate habits, influences, and thought patterns

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, as I enter into this new year, I thank You that Your mercies are new every morning and that great is Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22–23). You go before us and You are with me; You will never leave me nor forsake me (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Nothing in the year ahead is hidden from You. Lord, I commit this year to You, I am trusting You with all my heart and leaning not on my own understanding (Proverbs 3:5–6). I acknowledge that all of my plans are subject to Your will, and I say with humility, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that” (James 4:15). Order my steps according to Your Word (Psalm 119:133).

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me (Psalm 51:10). Transform me by the renewing of my mind, so that I may discern what is good, pleasing, and perfect in Your will (Romans 12:2). Let Your Word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path in every decision I face (Psalm 119:105).

We ask for Your peace to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Heal the brokenhearted and bind up my wounds (Psalm 147:3). Teach me to forgive as I have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), and to walk in love, just as Christ loved (Ephesians 5:2).

Prepare me for every season this year brings. When trials come, help me to count it joy, knowing You are producing endurance in me (James 1:2–4). When blessings come, keep me humble and thankful, remembering that every good and perfect gift comes from You (James 1:17).

I will seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that what I need will be provided (Matthew 6:33). I dedicate this year to You, asking that my life will bring You glory in all that I do (1 Corinthians 10:31).

I pray this with confidence in the name of Jesus, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). In Jesus Name Amen.

Stepping Into the New Year With God; Part 2

Letting go of a balloon

Lamentations 3:22–23 — “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

II. Releasing the Weight of the Old Year

You’ll never be able to fully embrace what God is doing next while holding tightly to what He is asking you to release.

Scripture:

God did not intended for us to carry the weight of yesterday into tomorrow. We are told in Isaiah 43 not to dwell on former things because God is doing something new. However, even as believers we can enter the new year still bound by regret, bitterness, failure, or unresolved pain. Hebrews 12 calls these things “weights” that slow us down in our spiritual race.

There are things that we carry are things like sin that needs repentance, grief that needs healing, and others could be disappointments that must be surrendered to God. We need to try consider it the way the apostle Paul understood it when he said, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.” When it says “Forgetting” it does not mean pretending the past never happened; it means refusing to let it define who we are or letting it control us.

God cannot fill hands that are already full. To receive new joy, new vision, and new strength, we must first release what no longer belongs to us. Forgiveness, of others and of ourselves, is often the doorway to freedom. As we step into the new year, we lay down the burdens of the old and trust God with what we cannot change.

Thoughts to Ponder:

  • Some things from last year were seasons, not assignments
  • God often requires surrender before advancement
  • Forgiveness frees us to move forward

Application:

  • Release regret, bitterness, failure, and fear
  • Invite God to heal unresolved wounds

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, as I enter into this new year, I thank You that Your mercies are new every morning and that great is Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22–23). You go before us and You are with me; You will never leave me nor forsake me (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Stepping Into the New Year With God

new year celebration

Lamentations 3:22–23 — “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

I. Remembering God’s Faithfulness in the Past Year

Before we rush into a new year, God calls us to pause and remember what He has done.

Scripture:

As we are getting ready to enter a new year, if we consider what Scripture says we are invited to look back before we move forward. Psalm 103 reminds us, “Forget not all His benefits.” Remembering is not nostalgia it is however an act of faith. We read that when Israel forgot what God had done, they lost perspective and drifted into fear and disobedience. There is no difference for us, forgetting God’s faithfulness causes us to underestimate His power for what lies ahead.

Over the past year there may have been joy, loss, growth, or disappointment. Yet if we look into every season, we can see God was present. He sustained you when you were tired, guided you when you were unsure, and protected you in ways you may never fully realize. We can see that even our unanswered prayers and closed doors can later be seen as evidence of God’s loving guidance.

When we remember God’s faithfulness we fuel gratitude and build confidence. By doing this we are reminded that the same God who carried us through everything we have been through will walk with us into the next. Before we rush ahead with resolutions and plans, we should pause to say, “Lord, Thank You.” Gratitude anchors our hearts and prepares us to trust God again.

Thoughts to Ponder:

  • God has been faithful even in difficult seasons
  • Gratitude builds faith for what’s ahead
  • Forgetting God’s works leads to fear and pride

Application:

  • Reflect on victories, lessons, and deliverances
  • Thank God not only for what went right, but for what grew you

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, as I enter into this new year, I thank You that Your mercies are new every morning and that great is Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22–23). You go before us and You are with me; You will never leave me nor forsake me (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Lord I want to be and act as close to You as You’ve always wanted Your children to be. Lord give the strength to stand against the evil in this world, the distractions and influences. Help me to not fear and worry about these issues that continue to affect everything around us. Thank you Lord for Your protection, direction, and love. In Jesus Name Amen
