Firefighters rescue 5 kittens from house fire in Spokane

Five kittens were rescued from a house fire after crews responded within minutes on Monday to a single family home on East 5th Avenue, according to the Spokane Fire Department (SFD). Crews were first dispatched around 4:46 p.m. to the 2100 block of East 5th Avenue following a report from a neighbor who observed smoke coming from the residence.

Top Videos Upon arrival, crews found “moderate smoke” rising from the house. According to SFD officials, the fire was contained within 10 minutes, as crews worked in collaboration with Spokane Valley Fire Department personnel. “Firefighters found five kittens during their search and safely removed them from the home,” SFD officials said. “No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.”
