New Year New Chances

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. ^{2 Corinthians 5:17-20 ESV}

Definition of New: become fresh, being other than the former or old

Synonyms: different, another, separate

This last year, 2020, for a lot of us is one that we are happy, glad and even Joyful to see the year pack it’s bags and leave. Remember that what has happened in the past cannot be changed it does not help to focus on the “oh I should have”, or the “oh I should not have”. God has told us:  “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” ^{Isaiah 43:18-19}

Make a resolution this year to focus on God and not all the junk that always tries to consume us, pray more, read the bible more, enjoy your loved ones more. Don’t worry about things so much God takes care of us : Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? ^{Matthew 6:26}

Love God first and love those who you are around they are the ones that are there for you that He has placed in your life to love, to help and for support: Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ^{1 Corinthians 13:4-7}
