Prayer

There are so many Psalms that are singing, and crying out to God. These help comfort us as believers knowing that we are not the only ones dealing with the stuff of this world. I will read these in a first person perspective and turn them into prayers. I will show you how I do it. This is all to give glory to God.

Psalm 89 KJV

Dear Heavenly Father, Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy. Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.

Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily. Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me. Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.

All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name. For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.

For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them. But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid. All the nations you made are on their way, ready to give honor to you, O Lord, Ready to put your beauty on display, parading your greatness, And the great things you do—God, you’re the one, there’s no one but you!

11-17 Train me, God, to walk straight; then I’ll follow your true path. Put me together, one heart and mind; then, undivided, I’ll worship in joyful fear. From the bottom of my heart I thank you, dear Lord; I’ve never kept secret what you’re up to. You’ve always been great toward me—what love!

You snatched me from the brink of disaster! God, these bullies have reared their heads! A gang of thugs is after me— and they don’t care a thing about you. But you, O God, are both tender and kind, not easily angered, immense in love, and you never, never quit.

So look me in the eye and show kindness, give your servant the strength to go on, save your dear, dear child! Make a show of how much you love me so the bullies who hate me will stand there slack-jawed, As you, God, gently and powerfully put me back on my feet. Thank you Lord, In Jesus Name Amen.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your Word. I’m single-minded in pursuit of you; don’t let me miss the road signs you’ve posted. I’ll transfer to my lips all the counsel that comes from your mouth; I delight far more in what you tell me about living than in gathering a pile of riches. The Walk

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to Yahweh’s law. Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart. Yes, they do nothing wrong. Make Sure You Know What God Says

Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 

and every spirit who doesn’t confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God, and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already. They are of the world.

Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn’t listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:1-6 WEB

My dear friends, don’t believe everything you hear. Carefully weigh and examine what people tell you. Not everyone who talks about God comes from God. There are a lot of lying preachers loose in the world.Here’s how you test for the genuine Spirit of God.

Everyone who confesses openly his faith in Jesus Christ—the Son of God, who came as an actual flesh-and-blood person—comes from God and belongs to God. And everyone who refuses to confess faith in Jesus has nothing in common with God. This is the spirit of antichrist that you heard was coming. Well, here it is, sooner than we thought!

My dear children, you come from God and belong to God. You have already won a big victory over those false teachers, for the Spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world. These people belong to the Christ-denying world. They talk the world’s language and the world eats it up. But we come from God and belong to God.

Anyone who knows God understands us and listens. The person who has nothing to do with God will, of course, not listen to us. This is another test for telling the Spirit of Truth from the spirit of deception. 1 John 4:1-6 Message

Be Careful

“So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly. For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth. Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”  Luke 21:34-36 WEB

One final word of counsel, friends. Keep a sharp eye out for those who take bits and pieces of the teaching that you learned and then use them to make trouble. Give these people a wide berth. Romans 16:17 Message

The Light of the World

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you. For, behold, darkness will cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Isaiah 60:1-3 WEB

Wake up. Put your face in the sunlight. God’s bright glory has risen for you. The whole earth is wrapped in darkness, all people sunk in deep darkness, But God rises on you, his sunrise glory breaks over you. Nations will come to your light, kings to your sunburst brightness. The 7 Churches in the book of Revelation

What’s the Story

I have heard the 7 churches quoted by so many people over the years so I wanted to find out why! I wanted to find out where exactly these 7 churches were located, and the reason that thy seem to matter so much. I found historical information on these cities, how they are doing now, and if they even exist now. I wanted to learn what they were like back then, the people, economy and religious practices. By doing this research I found out that the Roman’s where meticulous book keepers and that the strength and tenacity that the early Christians had was astounding. This is how I made the decision and the information I found…..

Unrelenting Tenacity

I have been in prayer asking God what I should share and study next, He was very admit that I did a study on the 7 churches that are represented in the book of Revelation. So in this study I am going to share everything that I was directed to study, this is going to be a comprehensive study that will completely explain what is known of these churches. The first place that we always want to start is in prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the opportunity to study the churches that You expressed love and concern for. Please guide me through these passages so that I may understand everything that you have for me Lord. Help me to apply it to my surroundings, show me what you meant in everything that was written and may this be your input and not mine. In Jesus Name Amen.

The Seven Churches

There are seven churches that are being addressed in Revelation 2-3 , they are commended for their good but are also being reprimanded and rebuked for the items they have lost, ignored and allowed. We can currently look around and think that everything is so bad; when we study each one of these churches you will see the tenacity it took to live the life of a Christian in those days showing we cannot yet compare it to the hardships of the present time. The message that was given to each one of these churches can be applied today making our relationship with Christ closer than you could ever imagine. I will break each church explanation down by verse, word and important statements. We will go over the geography, social and economic environment of each church. Lets begin:

Don’t Get Tricked

Armored up

Dear Heavenly Father, I have been learning more and more about You and all You want for me and the protection that is given. Lord I plead that I am not deceived; please show me the truth that has been given to me in the bible. Lord be my Guide giving me the Holy Spirit as my director so that I can discern between what is truth and what are deceptions. Lord I know that there are so many different view points of Your word, give me Your meaning and nothing else. In Jesus Name Amen

The best way to shut out these whispers that keep on coming through is to armor up, remember that the devil disguises himself as an angel of light: And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14 ESV I know this is repeating this point but it cannot be stressed enough! When reading the bible, our owner’s manual, it’s seen that satan even tried to deceive Jesus while He was being tempted: Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “He will command his angels concerning you, and On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.” Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.” Matthew 4:5-7 Looking at this passage helps one realize the devil has no shame! I know that the devil has been glamorized, even made into the victim, on TV, when looking at that it kind of helps us grasp the concept that it is part of satins grater plan, the devil has had thousands of years to perfect his approach. ARMOR UP: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. He’s Been in Front of You

Something to Think about

Every year we celebrate a day that I will say was one of the most important days in the history of the whole entire world. You see three days ago He was tortured, humiliated, and put to death over false acquisitions. We come together we celebrate with little eggs talk about bunnies, baby chicks and buckets full of candy (Yes we have kids and do it to). Do you know what Easter actually is a celebration of? This is the Day that Jesus, like He said: “Destroy this temple and I will build it again in three days.” John 2:19 ESV, would come back from the tomb as proof of who He was. There are a lot who have heard that parable; I am going to focus on one little point that does not get mentioned a lot. When the disciples found out that He was not in the tomb, Mary Magdalene said: “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they put him.” John 20:2 ESV Her first reaction was not, “oh wow Jesus has risen from the dead” it was someone stole His body. She was with Jesus all the time and did not see or realize what was in front of her and the disciples were not much better.

Standing in Front of Them

Mary went to the disciples and told them that someone stole the body, by their reaction they had a normal Human response. They were angry they ran as fast as they could irritated that someone would do such a thing: So Peter and the other follower started going to the tomb. They were both running, but the other follower ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent down and looked in. He saw the pieces of linen cloth lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter finally reached the tomb and went in. He saw the pieces of linen lying there. He also saw the cloth that had been around Jesus’ head. It was folded up and laid in a different place from the pieces of linen. Then the other follower went in—the one who had reached the tomb first. He saw what had happened and believed. (These followers did not yet understand from the Scriptures that Jesus must rise from death.) John 20:3-9 ESV It says they believed not that Jesus had rose from the dead but that someone had removed Jesus’s body from the tomb. Later Jesus did appear to the disciples Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them. He said, “Peace be with you!” As soon as he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. John 20:19-20 ESV There was one that was not there when Jesus appeared and showed them that He was alive and well. His disbelief was so strong he even said until I can actually put my finger through the nail holes and thrust my hand into His side where Jesus had been cut open on the cross, without this there is no way he would ever believe. This disciple was: Thomas (called Didymus) was one of the twelve, but he was not with the other followers when Jesus came. They told him, “We saw the Lord.” Thomas said, “That’s hard to believe. I will have to see the nail holes in his hands, put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side. Only then will I believe it.” A week later the followers were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. The doors were locked, but Jesus came and stood among them. He said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here. Look at my hands. Put your hand here in my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to Jesus, “My Lord and my God!” John 20:24-27 ESV

Standing in Front of You

We are the same way as the disciples, we know, there is enough recorded proof, and no matter how it is explained away Jesus lived and there is proof. So every year we go through the motions, watch the Easter movies about the bunny, get a big basket full of candy, we run around and celebrate the hidden eggs. But what are we celebrating? I do not think it is bad to celebrate Easter and the opportunity to bring your family together, family is so important. Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate. Psalm 127:3-5 ESV Is what I am trying to say is that it is awesome to get our families together when ever we can but let’s talk about what this day represents. We have so much that God has provided for us to know Him better than any other generation that has ever lived. We have access to bible study tools like e-Sword* for desktops or the Blue Letter Bible* for online and phone. We have Bibles online* that will read out load to you and tools to look up Subjects* that you want to learn more about and a cross reference tool* as well. Jesus is trying to reach out more than any other time, His word has been translated into so many different languages. He can now touch you no matter where we are in this world. He is responsible for giving people the knowledge to create these tools that we have been given to get to know Him better. He is reaching out to us: Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20 ESV “When you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are my true followers. For if you embrace the truth, it will release more freedom into your lives.” John 8:31-32 TPT

Jesus Prayed for You

“Father, the time has come. Give glory to your Son so that the Son can give glory to you. You gave the Son power over all people so that he could give eternal life to all those you have given to him. And this is eternal life: that people can know you, the only true God, and that they can know Jesus Christ, the one you sent. I finished the work you gave me to do. I brought you glory on earth. And now, Father, give me glory with you. Give me the glory I had with you before the world was made.

“You gave me some people from the world. I have shown them what you are like. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me. They have obeyed your teaching. Now they know that everything I have came from you. I told them the words you gave me, and they accepted them. They realized the fact that I came from you and believed that you sent me. I pray for them now. I am not praying for the people in the world. But I am praying for these people you gave me, because they are yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And my glory is seen in them.

“Now I am coming to you. I will not stay in the world, but these followers of mine are still in the world. Holy Father, keep them safe by the power of your name—the name you gave me. Then they will be one, just as you and I are one. While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power of your name—the name you gave me. I protected them. And only one of them was lost—the one who was sure to be lost. This was to show the truth of what the Scriptures said would happen.

“I am coming to you now. But I pray these things while I am still in the world. I say all this so that these followers can have the true happiness that I have. I want them to be completely happy. I have given them your teaching. And the world has hated them, because they don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.

“I am not asking you to take them out of the world. But I am asking that you keep them safe from the Evil One. They don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world. Make them ready for your service through your truth. Your teaching is truth. I have sent them into the world, just as you sent me into the world. I am making myself completely ready to serve you. I do this for them, so that they also might be fully qualified for your service.

“I pray not only for these followers but also for those who will believe in me because of their teaching. Father, I pray that all who believe in me can be one. You are in me and I am in you. I pray that they can also be one in us. Then the world will believe that you sent me.  I have given them the glory that you gave me. I gave them this glory so that they can be one, just as you and I are one. I will be in them, and you will be in me. So they will be completely one. Then the world will know that you sent me and that you loved them just as you loved me.

“Father, I want these people you have given me to be with me in every place I am. I want them to see my glory—the glory you gave me because you loved me before the world was made. Father, you are the one who always does what is right. The world does not know you, but I know you, and these followers of mine know that you sent me. Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you; it is unimaginable to think that all you have done for us and continue to do for us. You are waiting for us to accept You into our lives even though we don’t answer the door after You have knocked over and over again. Sometimes You are beating on the door hard enough that it seems like it would burst open shattering into pieces. In Jesus Name Amen.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday

Dear Heavenly Father, the strength and the tenacity You had knowing that You were going to have to suffer unimaginable pain both mentally and physically. Lord You did not waver, unmovable in everyway to endure the humiliation and physical torture just so that I can be with you in Heaven. I thank you from every part of my being, and cannot wait to give You a hug and tell You how much that means to me. In Jesus Name Amen

Make Way

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. Zechariah 9:9 ESV The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written:

“Fear not, daughter of Zion;

behold, your king is coming,

sitting on a donkey’s colt!”

His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him. The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness. The reason why the crowd went to meet him was that they heard he had done this sign. So the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the world has gone after him.” John 12:12-19 ESV

We know that in just a few days the leaders in Jerusalem will crucify Jesus because they felt threatened, they were afraid that they would loose their power. We all can learn a few things from what happened to Jesus, these leaders were blinded by their personal asperations, ignoring what they had in front of them. Jesus loves us so much that He even died for those that had Him nailed to the cross. Is there “stuff” that holds you back from seeing what is in front of you? It could be in the way of your family, friends, and even your salvation. We need to make sure that our “stuff” is in order so that it does not become a distraction from everything that is important. Jesus is our guide and will take us through turmoil, anxiety, and distractions. God has given us a owners manual that will show us how to deal with all the interference, sometimes it is like listening to an AM radio and all you can hear is static. As humans we seem to repeat history over and over again and in the bible, the entire bible, we are shown how to navigate the sometimes rough roads we have ahead.

Celebration Time

The palm-tree has ever been an emblem of victory and triumph; Cicero calls one that had won many prizes plurimarum palmarum homo – a man of many palms. Christ was now by his death to conquer principalities and powers, and therefore it was fit that he should have the victor’s palm borne before him; though he was but girding on the harness, yet he could boast as though he had put it off. Dear Heavenly Father, with everything that is happening right now around the world there is so much that I do not understand. Lord be my guide, be the light so I can see through the darkness, and Lord open my eyes so that I can see what you want me to do. I know I am only one part of the body and that I cannot do what others are doing, but I want to do what You want me to do Lord. Be my escort as I face this path. In Jesus Name Amen

Fear Not

I have been talking with people who are afraid, frustrated, and confused. It is normal to be afraid when there is something going on that can harm us and even worse that we cannot control. God has told us over and over again not to be afraid, I know it is hard when looking around and everything seems to be going crazy. Being concerned for family, friends, and loved ones recall and meditate on what God says: For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15 ESV For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Isaiah 41:13 ESV “Do not fear, only believe.” Mark 5:36 ESV

Frustration

We look around and see people wFruatrationith Covid-19 licking toilet paper in grocery stores and other people helping in ways that you cannot because of your circumstances, and this makes us want to do something. This is so frustrating; we see the guy in the grocery store trying to get people sick, this brings feelings of disgust and raises the question WHY. People are hoarding toilet paper, because of fear, not leaving anything for others, on the positive note there are people handing out food and helping others, but if you helped there is a good possibility that it would make you sick. God tells us that there is a time for everything: For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ESV This frustration is normal but remember God’s got this He is in control you can do your part and pray be the support for those who have none; call, send someone a thank you letter. Doing this is something Timothy told us to do: First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 ESV

Confusion

Don’t be confused: For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. 1 Corinthians 14:33 ESV Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 ESV Let my cry come before you, O Lord; give me understanding according to your word! Psalm 119:169 ESV I cannot say this enough; God has got your back pray the prayer that Elisha prayed: Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6: 17 Pray to have your eyes opened so that you may see Gods plan for you, when this plan becomes apparent you will be able to see the “chariots of fire” that He has given you to fight with. Yours will be different than others that is why we are told that we are one part of the whole body: For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Romans 12:3-5 ESV Become the “one part” that He has intended you to be.

We have the authority to tread on serpents and scorpions

God has given us so much, His grace is over-whelming! The power that has been given to us with the faith of a mustard seed will allow us to move mountains; “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him Matthew 11:22-23 Moving beyond that we are told of the authority that we, as Christians, have been given. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Luke 10:19 ESV They will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:18 ESV You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. Psalm 91:13 ESV When Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and put them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened on his hand. Acts 28:3 ES When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:2 ESV That is some kind of awesomeness, to know that God takes care of us with every step taken.

We must test all things

With all of this authority that we have been given there comes great responsibility. With that responsibility making sure that when using this authority it is not used in the wrong way. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 ESV Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! 2 Corinthians 13:5 ESV Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1 ESV But test everything; hold fast what is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 ESV “But he knows where I am and what I’ve done. He can cross-examine me all he wants, and I’ll pass the test with honors. I’ve followed him closely, my feet in his footprints, not once swerving from his way. I’ve obeyed every word he’s spoken, and not just obeyed his advice—I’ve treasured it. Job 23:10-12 MSG 

Why do we think we need to test Christ?

Where does it say testWhy God? I do not see anything about testing God, I do however see over and over again test the spirits, men and ourselves. Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” Matthew 4:5-7 ESV Looking at that gives complete insight on who likes to bring up questions about faith and trust. We must not put Christ to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents, 1 Corinthians 10:9 ESV When we look at a different version it really puts it into a whole different perspective of how important it is that God is not tested. We must be on guard so that we never get caught up in wanting our own way as they did. And we must not turn our religion into a circus as they did—“First the people partied, then they threw a dance.” They paid for that, remember, with 23,000 deaths in one day! We must never try to get Christ to serve us instead of us serving him; they tried it, and God launched an epidemic of poisonous snakes. We must be careful not to stir up discontent; discontent destroyed them. These are all warning markers—danger!—in our history books, written down so that we don’t repeat their mistakes. Our positions in the story are parallel—they at the beginning, we at the end—and we are just as capable of messing it up as they were. Don’t be so naive and self-confident. You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence. 1 Corinthians 10:6-12 MSG

Guilt

This is not meant to call anyone out, this is for those of us that need to stay home instead of going out and trying to help. STOP beating yourselves up! But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15 ESV  I know it is frustrating because lending a hand when there are others in need is second nature. We have been told to: Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV Ask yourself am I going to be better trying to lend support in different ways that do not require walking through a fire that God did not intend to be walked. After doing this, remember, God is not someone who condemns us: Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1 ESV There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 ESV Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 ESV Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 ESV For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15 ESV Do not fall for the lie being whispered in your ear that by not being present for certain things you are not doing the work that God wants you to do. Read that again, “works”. And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.” Isaiah 6:7 ESV

Do not be deceived, Armor up!

The best way to shut out Armored upthese whispers that keep on coming through is to armor up, remember that the devil disguises himself as an angel of light: And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14 ESV I know this is repeating this point but it cannot be stressed enough! When reading the bible, our owner’s manual, it’s seen that satan even tried to deceive Jesus while He was being tempted: Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “He will command his angels concerning you, and On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.” Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.” Matthew 4:5-7 Looking at this passage helps one realize the devil has no shame! I know that the devil has been glamorized, even made into the victim, on TV, when looking at that it kind of helps us grasp the concept that it is part of satins grater plan, the devil has had thousands of years to perfect his approach. ARMOR UP: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. Covid-19 Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, cover your children with the blood of Jesus Christ, while they are covered Lord Make this virus pass over their homes and families. Lord protect them from this sickness; for those who do get it Lord surround and comfort them. While this virus is attacking so many help settle fears, anxieties, and doubt. Lord we give this battle to You, send your angels to fight for us and keep us and our families safe from this Pandemic. Give our leaders the wisdom they need, protect them from attacks so they can guide us through this with open eyes and with the needed insight. Help them to see what needs to be done to keep everyone safe. Lord help us to share God’s love. In Jesus Name Amen

Don’t be Afraid God’s got this

As we are facing a frightening time in our history that has affected everyone, I pray as much as I can but right now it is even more important to talk to God. While I was praying this morning God reminded me of the Passover. The Passover was created to keep Gods people safe from the tenth plague that God was sending to Egypt because pharaoh would not let the Israelites go. God told Moses after he was unsuccessful to convince pharaoh for the ninth time to let his people go that the plague was going to take every first born living creature. God protected His people from this plague, they came out unscathed and ready for the next undertaking. We are reminded and should always remember to focus on the protection that we have through a close relationship with God: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place the Most High, who is my refuge no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. A Final Plague Threatened (ESV)

The Lord said to Moses, “Yet one plague more I will bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will drive you away completely. Speak now in the hearing of the people, that they ask, every man of his neighbor and every woman of her neighbor, for silver and gold jewelry.” And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people. So Moses said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘About midnight I will go out in the midst of Egypt, and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the slave girl who is behind the hand mill, and all the firstborn of the cattle. There shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there has never been, nor ever will be again. But not a dog shall growl against any of the people of Israel, either man or beast, that you may know that the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.’ And all these your servants shall come down to me and bow down to me, saying, ‘Get out, you and all the people who follow you.’ And after that I will go out.” And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh will not listen to you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.” Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the people of Israel go out of his land. Why does it take extremes?

This has always gave thoughts of how stubborn we can be sometimes, God will do things in our lives to show us His presence we see it believe for a second and then find ways to explain it and turn our backs again. I can admit I have been the same way in the past and I would find ways to discredit, oh that was a coincidence, the things that God was doing in my life until He hit me with that proverbial brick. He will make it so obvious that it cannot be explained away. So the brick that Pharaoh needed was the tenth plague something so drastic that God’s, the one and only god, existence could not be questioned.

Getting Ready for the Plague

Then Moses called all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Go and select lambs for yourselves according to your clans, and kill the Passover lamb. Getting Ready for Troubles

As a Christian we can get ready by putting on armor and fight these things that are being flung at us. When we have put on this armor it gives us protection from the god of this world, the devil. The devil has had years to prefect the ways that he attacks us, he is good at it. He causes doubt and misunderstanding, while Jesus was being tempted he even used the bible to try and deceive Jesus. This is why it so important for us to be armored up: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. We were given a gift so that there is no need to sacrifice a lamb when we sin or for protection, it is Jesus Christ. When we become Christians we walk in the light of or Lord Jesus Christ: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7 (ESV) We have been given the gift of the Holy Spirt who gives us the protection and wisdom to walk the path that is in front of us. While I was praying this morning I was reassured that Jesus Christ is our Lamb and that He covers us with His blood just like the lamb’s blood of the Passover. The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 (ESV) but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 1 Peter 1:19 (ESV) he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Hebrews 9:12-14(ESV)and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. Thoughts to Ponder

Looking at the explanation of what Jesus represents, how He sacrificed through pain and suffering and ultimately His death just so that we would be with Him in heaven for ever. Lets us know how much God loves each one of us! So when we pray to be covered with His blood we are asking for the ultimate protection, that which comes from the Creator of the entire universe. To begin with; when you read these words it is amazing how just one word truly defines what the devil is. In Revelation 12 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. In the bible it tells us exactly what Satan is doing right now 1 Peter 8 Be watchful and control yourselves. Your enemy the devil is like a roaring lion. He prowls around looking for someone to swallow up. You see the Devil is a lot like that kid that picked on you while you were in school, they were usually jealous of something that you had that they did not have. Well you have something that Satan does not have and that he can never get, Salvation through Jesus Christ. Satan was thrown out of heaven because he felt he was better than his creator, God. Isaiah 14 12 “King of Babylon, you thought you were the bright morning star. But now you have fallen from heaven! You once brought down nations. But now you have been thrown down to the earth! 13 You said in your heart, ‘I will go up to the heavens. I’ll raise my throne above the stars of God. I’ll sit as king on the mountain where the gods meet. I’ll set up my throne on the highest slopes of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will rise above the tops of the clouds. I’ll make myself like the Most High God. 15 But now you have been brought down to the place of the dead. You have been thrown into the deepest part of the pit. It was because of the Devils arrogance that he was thrown into the pit. Ezekiel 28 12 You were the model of perfection. You were full of wisdom. You were perfect and beautiful. 13 You were in Eden. It was my garden. All kinds of jewels decorated you. Here is a list of them. carnelian, chrysolite and emerald topaz, onyx and jasper lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl Your settings and mountings were made out of gold. Second; with that said we need be diligent about reading or bible, when we are reading our bible we are spending time with Jesus. There are things in this world that look like the truth but are far from it. 2 Corinthians 11 14 Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. When we take somebodies word for what Jesus said to do, how do we know for sure that what they are saying is coming from God or from a more deceitful agenda. 2 Corinthians 11 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. In the bible it tells us to test all things. 1 John 4 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. The more you become familiar with what the bible says the more you will know exactly what Gods will is for you Romans 12 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. This is why in Ephesians 6 17 The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. God tells us to know our bible so that we can cut out like a sword the deceptive garbage that the devil throws at you. The Devil has been around for a while and he has perfected a lot of ways to make us question the reality of God.

Finally; when you are with Jesus Christ he makes sure that you do not have to worry. 1 Corinthians 10 13God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. In this bible verse he says that you will be tempted but he will also provide you a way to bare the temptation. He will take care of you when the devil is trying to hurt and tempt you 2 Corinthians 11 12 And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about. God does not appreciate those who try to hurt his children. In everything we do we need to put our faith in Jesus Christ first because Psalms 118 6 The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Throughout your life Satan will try everything to make you question if you should depend on God. The Devil will use everything he can to get you to turn away Jesus Christ using family, friends and life’s hardships. So always remember 1 Peter 5 9 Stand up to him. Remain strong in what you believe. You know that you are not alone in your suffering. The family of believers throughout the world is going through the same thing.

He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22 ESV

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Genesis 2:24 ESV

Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. Christ’s love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty. Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk, radiant with holiness. And that is how husbands ought to love their wives. They’re really doing themselves a favor—since they’re already “one” in marriage. No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. That’s how Christ treats us, the church, since we are part of his body. And this is why a man leaves father and mother and cherishes his wife. No longer two, they become “one flesh.” This is a huge mystery, and I don’t pretend to understand it all. What is clearest to me is the way Christ treats the church. And this provides a good picture of how each husband is to treat his wife, loving himself in loving her, and how each wife is to honor her husband. Ephesians 5:25-33 (MSG)

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
