Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good. In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate to one another; in honor prefer one another, not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, enduring in troubles, continuing steadfastly in prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, and given to hospitality.

Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits. Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.

This is a call for believer to a love that is sincere, resilient, and active. Paul describes faith lived out in everyday relationships serving with zeal, blessing enemies, practicing humility, and pursuing peace. This passage reminds us that Christlike love is not selective or convenient. It costs something. When we choose kindness over retaliation and unity over pride, we reflect the gospel in action. Let love be genuine today, rooted in truth, expressed through patience, and guided by a desire to live at peace with all.

Obedience is not only about avoiding wrong, but also about doing what is right. Knowing God’s will carries responsibility. Saul was consenting to his death. A great persecution arose against the assembly, which was in Jerusalem in that day. They were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except for the apostles. 

Devout men buried Stephen and lamented greatly over him. But Saul ravaged the assembly, entering into every house and dragging both men and women off to prison. Therefore, those who were scattered abroad went around preaching the word.

What looked like devastating persecution became the means for spreading the gospel. Believers were scattered, but they did not fall silent; they carried the message everywhere they went. This passage reminds us that trials do not stop God’s work; they often accelerate it. When life disrupts your plans, trust God’s greater mission. He can turn pressure into purpose and suffering into seeds of faith that grow far beyond what you imagined.

In Christ we are no longer outsiders, but members of God’s household. Our identity is rooted not in background or status, but in belonging. God is building His people together on the foundation of Christ, shaping us into a dwelling place for His Spirit. You are not standing alone, your faith is part of something living and eternal. Live connected, grounded, and grateful, knowing God is at work in you and among His people, forming a holy home for His presence.

They were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except for the apostles. Devout men buried Stephen and lamented greatly over him. But Saul ravaged the assembly, entering into every house and dragged both men and women off to prison. Therefore those who were scattered abroad went around preaching the word. 

Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. The multitudes listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philip when they heard and saw the signs which he did. For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed. There was great joy in that city.

God turns suffering into mission. What was meant to silence the church became the means of spreading the gospel. Persecution scattered believers, but it also carried hope into new places. Philip’s obedience brought healing, deliverance, and great joy too Samaria. When hardship disrupts your life, remember this truth: God is never wasting it. He can use trials to advance His purposes, deepen faith, and bring light and joy where darkness once ruled.

This is a warning against spiritual immaturity that leaves believers tossed by trends and deceptive teaching. God desires stability, not confusion. Growing in truth anchors our faith and guards our hearts. Stay rooted in Scripture, grounded in Christ, and discerning in what you believe. As maturity deepens, faith becomes steady, wisdom sharpens, and lives reflect confidence rather than confusion, standing firm amid shifting voices.

But false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction.

This warns that false teaching often rises from within, not outside. Deception can sound spiritual while leading hearts astray. This verse calls believers to vigilance, humility, and discernment. Stay rooted in Scripture, not personalities. Test what you hear against God’s truth. Faithfulness means guarding the gospel with courage and love, knowing that truth protects souls and honors Christ.

Hebrews 1:1–4

God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, who, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels as the more excellent name he has inherited is better than theirs.

We see here that these verses declare that God has spoken fully through His Son. Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact imprint of His nature. He sustains all things and has secured our purification from sin. When uncertainty surrounds us, fix your eyes on Christ. He is God’s final word, authoritative, powerful, and sufficient, calling us to listen, trust, and worship with confidence and awe.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created in the heavens and on the earth, visible things and invisible things, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things are held together. 

He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence. For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him, and through him to reconcile all things to himself by him, whether things on the earth or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross.

These verses lift our eyes to the supremacy of Christ. Jesus is not only Savior but Creator, Sustainer, and Reconciler of all things. Everything holds together in Him, and through His cross, peace is made. When life feels chaotic or divided, remember who is in control. Center your faith, worship, and obedience on Christ alone, the One who reigns over creation and restores what is broken.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.

There came a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light. The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him. But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name: 

who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

This passage reveals the miracle of God stepping into our world. Jesus, the eternal Word, became flesh to bring light into darkness. He was not distant, but present, full of grace and truth. Though many rejected Him, all who receive Him are made children of God. Let this truth deepen your wonder, strengthen your faith, and inspire gratitude. God came near so we could truly know Him and live in His light.

Psalm 139:23-24

Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.

David invites God to search his heart, not to condemn him, but to lead him. Psalm 139:23–24 models courageous humility welcoming God’s examination and correction. When we ask God to reveal hidden sin or harmful ways, He does so with love. This prayer opens the door to transformation, repentance, and deeper intimacy. Let God search you today, trusting Him to guide you in the everlasting way marked by grace, truth, and lasting peace.
