South Park Game Preserve welcomes third baby bison of 2026

The South Park Game Preserve has welcomed its third baby bison of 2026. The Friends of the South Park Buffalo Preserve Facebook group announced on Sunday that 5-year-old Crimson, daughter of Violet, has become a first-time mom to a baby named Nova. The baby bison’s name was inspired by a sight captured by those who watch after the animals.  During Friday’s public feeding, a butterfly landed on one of the group members, whose mother had recently died.  After searching for a name for the new baby, the group said they settled on Nova, a name associated with the Hopi, meaning “chasing butterflies.”

“Sometimes life has a way of placing little signs in front of us exactly when we need them most,” the Facebook post read. “Today, as we celebrate one life so beautifully lived and another just beginning, the name couldn’t feel more perfect.” Three generations of bison Just last month, the group said that there are now three generations of bison in South Park after another calf was born. The calf born in May to Alice also made fellow bison Rosie a grandma. “Rosie has now seen four of her offspring (Alice, Diane, Elu, and Denali) grow within the Preserve family, and now that family line stretches beautifully into the next generation. That is something truly special,” the group wrote on Facebook. The calf, named Jacobi, joined Denali, who was born in March.

Man Carries Stranded Moose Calf Across Busy Highway to Reunite It With Its Mother

The drama unfolded near Prince George, BC, when a mother moose attempted to lead her newborn twin calves across Highway 97. While the mother successfully made it to the other side, her two calves became trapped in the highway’s center median, unable to climb over the concrete barrier separating the lanes. Motorist Sandie, who witnessed the scene and recorded video, said traffic began slowing as drivers noticed the stranded animals. The worried mother remained nearby, keeping a watchful eye on her babies from the opposite side of the highway. One of the calves eventually managed to scramble over the barrier on its own and reunite with its mother.

The second calf, however, remained stuck. As more time passed and traffic continued to back up, one bystander decided something had to be done. Duane Hogberg carefully approached the frightened newborn, lifted it over the concrete median, and then carried the tiny moose across to safety while its mother waited nearby. The touching moment was captured on video, showing the calf being reunited with its family after the rescue. Thanks to Hogberg’s actions, the young moose was able to safely reach its mother, bringing a stressful situation to a happy ending and earning praise from viewers who called the rescue both brave and compassionate.

Graco infant car seats sold at Amazon, Target and Walmart recalled over structural issue

Graco is voluntarily recalling select infant car seats due to a “structural issue” with the base, the company announced. The recalled SnugRide Turn & Slide seats were sold in the U.S. from Jan through March 2026 at Amazon, Babylist, Target, Walmart, and on Graco’s website. “We know parents rely on Graco products every day, and we understand this may create frustration and disruption for families,” Graco said. “We are working quickly to support affected families and will provide a replacement product at no cost.” Which car seats are included in Graco’s recall? You’ll need to check the model number and color of the seats, according to Graco. This can be found on the product label. In addition to verifying with the below list of recalled models, you can enter the seat’s model number on Graco’s website to confirm whether it has been recalled. When is Target’s 2026 car seat trade-in, and what will you receive?

They should take a photo of the product and upload it to gracobaby.com/nsrecall/recall.html for a replacement. “The current seat may continue to be used without the base in accordance with the product instructions while you wait for your selected replacement product,” Graco said.
