Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. 1 Peter 4:12-13 For I will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. I will cover you with My pinions, and under My wings you will find refuge; My faithfulness is a shield and buckler. Psalm 91:3-5 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:2 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

He defeated death for the welfare of all, giving us the gift of life with Him forever our Lord and Savior. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 ESV

Dear Children,
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (NIV) “Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn’t a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing. You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better? (MSG) “Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock and the door will be opened for you. For every persistent one will get what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he longs for. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door. (TPT)Matt 7:7-8
I sent my son to save you; and she will give birth to a Son, and you shall name Him Jesus (The Lord is salvation), for He will save His people from their sins.” Matt 1:21 (AMP) you who spend your days shrouded in darkness can now say, “We have seen a brilliant Light.” And those who live in the dark shadow land of death can now say, “The Dawning Light arises on us.” Matt 4:16(TPT) “How blessed are those who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness, because it is they who will be satisfied!” Matt 5:6 (ISV) for if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matt 6:14 (AMPC)“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Matt 7:7-8 (NIV)

“There are four things that we ought to do with the Word of God – admit it as the Word of God, commit it to our hearts and minds, submit to it, and transmit it to the world.” William Wilberforce
Dear Heavenly Father, please take this overwhelming weight from me please surround me with the wall of fire You talked about in Zechariah 2:5 And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst. Lord rebuke all of these attacks, doubts and fear. Hide me in the shadow of your wings Lord. Thank you for your protection and always putting up with me. In Jesus Name Amen.
As our relationship with God grows more and more every day and the more we depend on Him we will learn that we can trust Him in everything that we do. When we trust the Holy Spirit to be our guide we are reassured that He will never guide us down the wrong path. When we float along this river He will guide us through every set of rapids we have to navigate and give us the strength needed to face it without hesitation.
Dear Heavenly Father, please give me Your unrelenting understanding and forgiveness You have for each one of us. Lord please help me to see people the way You see them, it is hard sometimes to love when it always feels like I am being persecuted. I will never be able to imagine the sacrifice that You did for me. In comparison to the heartache and suffering that You endured it does not seem like much, but Lord it makes it hard to share love when I look through these eyes. Please help me be empathetic to others while putting aside this unloving frame of mind helping me to see the good and not the bad. I never want to be nothing in Your eyes so I will love in all that I do. In Jesus Name Amen

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: He shall give His angels charge over you and In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.”
Jesus said to him, “It is written again, you shall not tempt the Lord your God.” Again the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, “you shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Mark 4:1-11
While Jesus was in the wilderness He was fasting, let’s consider what exactly fasting is. The Definition of a fast is quite simply not eating food for a personal set amount of time. The Christian view of a fast takes it a little further; it is a time to abstain from anything distracting you from keeping your eyes on God’s will, humbling yourself before God. It is a time to pray and for repentance looking into ourselves and asking for God’s direction.
Daniel was a man focused on what God wanted him to do, he was fast to understand what God wanted. This is what Daniel would do: At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over. Daniel 10:2-3 Isaiah puts it this way after some had fasted and made fasting into a show and tried to garner personal gain: Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the Lord? “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? Isaiah 58:5-7
Jesus also gave directions for fasting: “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Matthew 6:16-18 Isaiah and Jesus were scolding the people that were being addressed because they were focused on themselves. Through what not to do gives us a view of having a closer relationship with God. Daniel would do everything he could to remove distractions that would cause him to loose focus on God.

When you become a new Christian you become a new creation because of the sacrifice and love given to you personally from the Father and your Lord Jesus Christ. Now that your eyes have been opened to things that you never have seen before, or just ignored, it will be difficult to walk the path that you used to walk. Consider what Jesus told us: I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 There will be those who accuse you of persecuting them and judging them, sometimes they will try to make you feel ashamed for the way you believe trying to make so there is doubt put in your mind. Be careful: Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 Sometimes this happens because they see things in their life that convicts them deep in their heart and if it makes you question yourself it will somehow vindicate what they are feeling. If this happens, sometimes it will come from your closest friends and family, it becomes tough to follow and easy to just give up because you feel like you are turning your back on those who you respect and love the most: Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Matthew 16:24 I know this seems, to some, like a ridiculous requirement but we need to always remember: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27 With that in mind you can see what it means when He says that we must deny ourselves. If we do not deny ourselves we are loving ourselves more then we are trusting and loving God. This then leads to doubt, mistrust, and being deceived.
