The Light in the Dark (part 3)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it. John 1-5 WEB

When we look around and wonder what is going on. All of The confusion, those things that make us stop and wonder. Mean while they are being praised as being good. Attacks on our children, our families, and values.

If we focus on all of these distractions, because that is all that they are. Jesus told us that we are a light to the world and that we need to stop covering the light. We need to stop letting the dark cover our light, shout it out and let it shine.

You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 WEB

This has all been prophesied throughout the Bible the surest and only way to navigate through every thing that is going on is to follow the map we have been given, the Bible. We have Jesus’ words and the Holy Spirit as our personal guides.

He’s Got This

Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials, that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:6-7 WEB

He Chose You

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire Ephesians 1:3-5 WEB

God is Faithful

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 WEB

Your Not of This World

For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him; knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over him! For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God. Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. His Light is Becoming Brighter

But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron, forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 1 Timothy 4:1-3 WEB

How to Fight the Dark

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God,

that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood,

but against the principalities,

against the powers,

against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age,

and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 

Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 

Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist,

and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 

and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, 

above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 

And take the helmet of salvation,

and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 

with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit,

and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for guiding my footsteps when life has seemed its darkest You have always carried me through. Making sure that my feet have landed where they should. I am sorry for the times I have doubted You but still you have kept on the path. In Jesus Name Amen

Sometimes we look around and wonder what is going on, I do. The confusion, all the things that make us stop and shake our heads are being praised as being good. Attacks on our children, our families, and values.

It seems like the more offensive it is the greater it is being praised. Crime is up all over the world. There are leaders that are only looking out for their own interests and not that of the people they are in charge of. There are wars and rumors of wars. It seems to be coming from all sides:

  1. Our Children
  2. Sickness
  3. Division
  4. Natural Disasters
  5. Wars
  6. Energy Shortages
  7. The Economy

This has all been prophesied throughout the Bible the surest and only way to navigate through every thing that is going on is to follow the map we have been given, the Bible. We have Jesus’ words and the Holy Spirit as our personal guides.

He’s Got This

Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings. But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.  1 Peter 5:9-10 WEB

He Chose You

His Light is Becoming Brighter

The Light in the Dark (part 1)

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep and God’s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light “day”, and the darkness he called “night”. There was evening and there was morning, the first day. Genesis 1:1-5 WEB

From the beginning God divided the darkness from the light, we are told the earth was formless and empty. When God created the light it separated the dark void that was surrounding everything. The first move God made was light and when it was complete after seeing what He’d done He was pleased and knew the light was good.

A Quick Thought

Imagine a scenario in which you are lost in a forest during a cloudy night where the moon cannot give you its light. You don’t have your smartphone to be used as a flashlight. It is so dark that you cannot see the hand in front of your face. There is simply no light to be found. As you are wandering through the dark forest, you have now traveled so far that you have forgotten which direction you have come from.

Suddenly off in the distance appears a man making his way through the forest with his flashlight. Knowing that he may be able to help, you carefully make your way to him. Upon meeting the man with the flashlight he instructs you that he is very familiar with the forest and that he is able to help you navigate out of the forest back to your house. All that you need to do is follow him as he shines his light for you to see. The question I want to ask you is – will you follow this man who is able to give you light, or will you continue to walk in the dark though you know that the man with the light could lead you home?

So it is with our walk with Christ. Our knowledge of the light will do us no good unless we follow the light; unless we walk in the light of God.

God has always separated the light from the dark. This is why you can never go wrong when you follow and focus on the light! When we look away from the light and pay attention to the darkness eventually we will not see the light but become overwhelmed by the dark. We will start to believe the lies that are being whispered in our ears. As everything becomes heavier and heavier it’ll seem that we cannot take another breath.

Always remember God created the light, He divided the light from the dark. It has not changed since the first day He created the earth. We need some sort of light for everything. It is an essential part of life on earth. Plants need light to grow, and search for any small amount of light when there is none.

Sun-light is a key energy source for all plants. Through a process called photosynthesis, plants absorb energy from the sun, which fuels the processes necessary for their survival.

Humans need light to get vitamins, improve heal and mental well-being.

Sunlight is essential for human health and well-being. The health benefits of sunlight include generating the production of vitamin D, supporting bone health, lowering blood pressure, preventing disease, and promoting good mental health.

Protected

Sometimes we look around and wonder why all of the junk that surrounds us is a continual onslaught that never seems to end. Sometimes we find ourselves asking, is this worth it?

There is an example we are given in the bible and when we read about everything that happened the faith shown was unmovable. This guy had everything taken from him, his wealth, his health, and his family. The example that I am talking about is Job. 

Job followed God in a way that so many of us should strive to accomplish. We are told God said: for there is no one like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil.” Job 1:8 WEB

In one day Job had everything taken from him:

  1. Cattle Job 1:14
  2. Transportation Job 1:17
  3. Children Job 1:18

We are told that we need to persevere, he’s got your back even when it doesn’t seem like it: We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28 WEB

Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him. James 1:12 WEB

If we admit it our aspirations at times are different then God’s aspirations: Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin. The sin, when it is full grown, produces death. Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers. James 1:13-16 WEB 

Rest in the Lord wait for His direction and walk in His strength. Spread your wings and fly leaving the “stuff” that’s weighing you down and never looking back. Resting in the Lord would includes focusing on Him.

Praising Him and surrounding yourself in His word. Like any other exercise regiment the best way to keep up your strength is through repetitions. Always praise Him, always focus on Him, and always listen to the words He has given us.

Triumph

The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow.

Dear Heavenly Father, help me to have Job’s faith through all of the junk helping me understand. Help me to look into myself to show me the things that I need to change. In Jesus Name Amen

A Question from God

“How long will this people despise me? And how long will they not believe in me, in spite of all the signs that I have done among them? Numbers 14:11 ESV

Have you ever sat down and considered everything that God has done for you throughout your life. The little things that only you know about that cannot be explained by “logical” reason.  

We as humans try to analyze and explain everything and when it does not fit our goals we have a tendency to dismiss it. I have even heard scientist say we have to fill in the blanks with our imagination to explain how things work.

Some will say it is all caused by satin. The devil’s goal has always been to keep us apart from what God is doing, and wants done. The devil has injected himself into the foundation of our lives. But do realize that it is not always the devil but our own selfish desires.

Sometimes we do not want to see it, other times it is an attempt to make excuses for the way we want to act. God has given us so many chances to get to know Him and have the opportunity to be with Him for eternity. If you read the bible you can see through His word that there has been so much prophesy full-filled that you will know He is knock at the door screaming hurry I am coming in.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, help me to see You and all the things that You do. Help me to see those things that from the devil and see the things that are my desires. Please give me the strength to help fix it the way that You have always intended me to be. Thank you Lord for everything that you have done for me. In Jesus Name Amen

Division

How do you feel about the division that has been created within the world, school, politics? What about religion, church, and denominations? I am going to focus on denominations. I believe it is a disease that the devil injected into God’s people to distract them from God and His word.

Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. Matthew 12:25 WEB 

The devil’s goal has always been to keep us apart from what God is doing, wants done, and has completed. Using denominations the devil has injected himself into the foundational truths of Christianity.

Why are Christians falling for it? Christians are falling for this deception, it’s understandable the devil has had thousands of years to perfect his deceitfulness and he’s  gotten so good at doing it. 

We have been deceived by the master deceiver and have bought into the deception: And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light 2 Corinthians 11:14 WEB The devil is arrogant, so arrogant that he even thought he could tempt and deceive Jesus in the wilderness.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, help me to see this division that has been made into a festering wound. Please give me the strength to help fix it the way that You have always intended it to be.In Jesus Name Amen

Thankful For Family

Psalm 128:3

Rudyard Kipling once wrote, “all of us are we–and everyone else is they.” A family shares things like dreams, hopes, possessions, memories, smiles, frowns, and gladness…A family is a clan held together with the glue of love and the cement of mutual respect. A family is shelter from the storm, a friendly port when the waves of life become too wild. No person is ever alone who is a member of a family.

So today you might be standing in line waiting with 1000 other people. You’re trying to get the best deal of the year on that gift that is the must purchase item of the year. When you think about, it takes love, patience, and even a little madness to deal with the chaos that is Black Friday. Something to remember when you are out there: Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Always remember the best gift that you can ever give your family is an introduction to Jesus Christ. Use the examples that Christ has given us for the family we have been gifted with. Jesus laid down His life, John 3:16, so that His family, that’s you, was protected from the junk that the devil throws at us. Make sure the foundation your family is being built around is the love and direction of Jesus Christ. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Psalm 128:3 ESV Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate. Psalm 127:3-5 ESV

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the family you have given me. From the start, I was given a dad and mom that looked to you. Through the example my grandparents gave I learned to love. It was not always smooth, sometimes just plain messy. But the family I had and have now is exactly what I wanted and could not do without. Thank you again. In Jesus Name Amen

Thankful For Sacrifice

It is said that Cyrus, the founder of the Persian Empire, once had captured a prince and his family. When they came before him, the monarch asked the prisoner, “What will you give me if I release you?” “The half of my wealth,” was his reply. “And if I release your children?” “Everything I possess.” “And if I release your wife?” “Your Majesty, I will give myself.” Cyrus was so moved by his devotion that he freed them all. As they returned home, the prince said to his wife, “Wasn’t Cyrus a handsome man!” With a look of deep love for her husband, she said to him, “I didn’t notice. I could only keep my eyes on you- -the one who was willing to give himself for me.”

Have you ever considered what sacrifice is? The definition of sacrifice is: to surrender or give up, or permit injury or disadvantage to, for the sake of something or someone else. Most parents would sacrifice themselves for their children not only financially, but even give their lives to save them. Some of us sacrifice our time to help others. Some will stand up and walk the line for the rest of us in the military. There are those through out history who have given their lives to make sure that our nation is free. The biggest sacrifice that anyone has done or will ever do for you is what Jesus did for us on the Cross. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 ESV But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 ESV

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the sacrifice that You did for me. Lord to know that I have been forgiven for the stupid things that I due gives me comfort. I cannot thank you enough that You were willing to suffer for someone like me. In Jesus Name Amen

Thankful for His Protection

Thankful to be walked through chaos

Lorrie Anderson, missionary to the head-shrinking Candoshi Shapra Indians of Peru, was looking for a quiet place for her daily time of Bible reading and prayer, so she went down by the edge of the river. After reading the Bible, she took up her prayer list. Eyes closed, she did not see the deadly anaconda weaving through the water until it struck, burying its fangs into her flesh. It withdrew to strike, hitting her arm again and again as it held her screaming in its coils. It reared up for the death blows. Then suddenly, the giant snake, never known to release its prey, relaxed its grip and slithered off through the water. While Lorrie was being treated, a witch doctor from a nearby village burst into the hut and stared at her. She couldn’t believe Lorrie had survived. She said her son-in-law, also a witch doctor, had chanted to the spirit of the anaconda that morning and sent it to kill the young missionary. “I’m certain,” Lorrie said, “that except for the protection of God, it would have worked.”

We are so thankful for the protection that God gives each one of us everyday. We have been told, and we speak from experience, that: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:2 ESV

Throughout the Bible we are told many times that He protects His children. He has told us that we will be safe from weapons Isaiah 54:17, enemies Psalm 138:7, and even death Psalm 23. I have had many experiences with how much God protects us. Car, motorcycle, and snowmobile accidents I walked away from. Being shot at multiple times, He has protected me and there have been people that have tried to destroy me. Ultimately God has protected me from the plans of the the devil Ephesions 6:12.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for protecting me through all of the chaos, turmoil, sickness and everyday life. Thank you for protecting me from my own stupidity. Thank you for protecting me from people that have not had the best of intentions. Thank you Lord for being the teflon that keeps these things away. In Jesus Name Amen

Thankful

Thankfulness seems to be a lost art today. Warren Wiersby illustrated this problem in his commentary on Colossians. He told about a ministerial student in Evanston, Illinois, who was part of a life-saving squad. In 1860, a ship went aground on the shore of Lake Michigan near Evanston, and Edward Spencer waded again and again into the frigid waters to rescue 17 passengers. In the process, his health was permanently damaged. Some years later at his funeral, it was noted that not one of the people he rescued ever thanked him.

Strength Training

Rest in the Lord wait for His direction and walk in His strength. Spread your wings and fly leaving the “stuff” that’s weighing you down and never looking back. Resting in the Lord would include focusing on Him. Praising Him and surrounding yourself in His word. Like any other exercise regiment the best way to keep up your strength is through repetitions. Always praise Him, always focus on Him, and always listen to the words He has given us.

Cleansed

There are so many “things” that are out there that will distract us. They will take our attention and direct it in so many different directions that sometimes it is hard to focus on our daily life. We often will categorize what is most important leaving God on the bottom of the list. When losing our focus on God we lose the best coach/leader/director that we have access to. Always consult Him first in every thing that you do.

Work is hard. Distractions are plentiful. And time is short.

We always try to convince ourselves that we’ve done too much, we’re too bad to be saved. Why do I even try? He has reassured us that it is our “stuff” that separates us. He told us nothing on this earth will keep you from His love! Stop accepting anything else! Like I stated the only thing that will keep you from knowing Him is you. There are days when we have convinced ourselves that everything just sucks, it would just be easier to not care and just be who we used to be. Why would we want to do that, times of self-pity, doubt, fear, isolating ourselves, walking around in a stupor. If we look back to what we had was it really always that good? Was a second of self-gratification fulfilling enough to say “that was worth it”? You see God knows what we are going through that is why He, through the bible, has given each one of us directions on how to deal with what we have going on. When we go into self-pity mode He tells us: to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, Ephesians 4:22 ESV When Doubt is creeping in He tells us: the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:6 ESV And when fear has convinced us that there is no way we can do it He lets us know that: Fear and intimidation is a trap that holds you back. Proverbs 29:25 (TPT) We will make so that we become more and more isolated and begin to convince ourselves that its right and begin to blame everyone else: Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment. Proverbs 18:1 ESV When we walk around in this stupor we fail to see or understand what God is doing for us: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.” Romans 11:8 ESV . Sometimes it is so difficult not to over emphasize the environment that we have landed in. It has the tendency to make so we put up a shield that we think is the best way to protect ourselves. By doing this we are listening to those little suggestions that are being whispered in our ears. If we would always keep our focus on God instead of all of the distractions that come our way it will help solve a lot of the problems that we face. If we enter every situation with love, even when it seems impossible, it will shield us (Gods shield) from loads of heartache.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 ESV No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17 ESV He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. So you ask; “How do I do this”? The best way to do this is to get to know Jesus. Read your bible, find a church that follows the bible, make some friends that are believers so that you can have a support system. In the bible God tells us how: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints. Ephesians 6:10-18 ESV

We are not the only ones that have dealt with attacks Paul and David did also and this is what they told us: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 ESV Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Since Jesus went through everything you’re going through and more, learn to think like him. Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your own way. Then you’ll be able to live out your days free to pursue what God wants instead of being tyrannized by what you want. 1 Peter 4:1-2 MSG

Bringing in 2020

Dear Heavenly Father, as I enter a new year and another decade please guide every foot step that I take. Show me how to be a light to everyone that needs it while helping me to see things the way You do. In Zechariah 2:5 (AMP) You tell Jerusalem that you will protect them: “For I, declares the Lord, will be a wall of fire around her [protecting her from enemies], and I will be the glory in her midst.” Lord put that wall of fire around me, my family, and friends giving us your almighty protection. As this new year and decade begin help me to recognize those who are trying to deceive me (Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1 ESV) When presented with the many options that come my way show me Your ways so that I do not conform to this world (Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 ESV) Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. Psalm 86:11 ESV for you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me; Psalm 31:3 ESV Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Throughout the bible we are told to help tend His flock; the broken hearted, widows, children, and hurting people. We have been instructed to serve and not be served, to Love even when you are hated, and to hope even when it seems hopeless.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to lead the way that You lead, to see the way that You see, to feel the way You feel. Lord surround Your leaders with that impenetrable fiery wall of protection You put around Jerusalem, cover them with Your blood and fill them with the Holy Spirit directing every step they take. In Jesus Name Amen

Who is Jesus?

 

Dear Heavenly Father, let me always see who You are see things through Your eyes. Help me to personally know You through the word, be my light in the darkness Lord. You were here in the beginning and have the answers to all of the questions that I have. Thank You Lord for your gift, Your sacrifice and Your love! In Jesus Name Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You needing direction and understanding. I am here without blame, accusation and without reservation Lord. Please give me wisdom and empathy to see the path that You want me to travel, to accept Your answer no matter what it is knowing that it is Your will. In Jesus Name Amen

The Vision of Jesus

 

Dear Heavenly Father, please be our guide through this study of the Seven Churches in Revelation. Show us Your meaning not one skewed with our thoughts and experience, but only Your thoughts. In Jesus Name Amen.

Sitting in a jail cell gives one extra time to think, ponder life and pray. John was in Patmos serving time for unlawfully sharing the message of Jesus Christ in Ephesus. The Jewish elite, because of Roman persecution, had thrown Christians under the bus to Domitian, a Roman Emperor. The elite said because the Christians taught the reality of who Jesus was that He came to earth to save us all, and was raised after three days from the dead. It would cause dire consequences to the Roman Empire. At this time if this message was shared it could be, if permitted, jail time and even death. In a time of meditation and prayer, in the “Spirit”, John heard a loud voice behind him. Picture that you are in a room all by yourself all is silent and all of a sudden “WRITE WHAT YOU SEE”, super loud. Do you think he jumped? Maybe a scream? I know what I would have done, my head would hit the ceiling, it would have been a good thing it was Jesus Christ because I would of probably needed a head wound healed.

Now after taking a moment to regain a little composure, if at all, he turns around to someone standing there surrounded by lampstands. Looking like royalty, white hair, flames in His eyes, and when He spoke it was deafening. He was holding seven stars in His hand, when He would speak out of His would came a double edge sword, and the light coming off of Him was bright enough John could not stand to look at Him for too long. You know someone you would expect to see in a prison cell. John says “I feel at His feet as though I was dead”, immediately a hand of comfort reaches out and says” Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore”. He lets John know I am Jesus, I am here, and everything is all right. My children need to hear some things and I need you to write them down and deliver it to them.

In this journey through the vision of the seven churches of Revelation we will see the love that our God has for us. You will see that with fulfilling the prophesy of coming to earth, being crucified, and raised from the dead three days later; did not mean that He then ascended to Heaven put His feet up sat back on His throne and said “I am good now take care of it”. No; He came down once more and said hey, I love you and you did not hear what I said, you need to take care of this our we will not be able to see each other. The message that He left to the Seven Churches still resonates today, in some aspects more now then back when the Revelation was given to John. We will see how some would twist the word for personal gain; others would get to comfortable and think they could do it better then God. Groups that would try to justify their sin through the teaching of Christ, and a few that use deceitfulness to try and destroy what Jesus had done for them. With the warnings and acknowledgments that are given in these seven letters we can see that if we apply them to our lives it will make our walk with Christ even closer then you could have ever imagined.

Vision of the Son of Man

I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet saying, “Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.”

Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades. Write therefore the things that you have seen those that are and those that are to take place after this. As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
