Through Faith god has given us a path to eternal life; it is all we need to know Jesus Christ John 3 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. If you believe Matthew 21 22 If you believe, you will receive what you ask for when you pray,” God sacrificed his one and only son to forgive our sins then when you have faith Matthew 21 21 Jesus replied, “What I’m about to tell you is true. You must have faith and not doubt this is all God wants us to have to be one of his children.
In the Dictionary Faith is quoted as: a strong belief or trust in someone or something
There are many stories in the bible where Jesus healed and took care of people because they had unconditional faith in him Matthew 9 2 Some men brought to him a paralyzed (disabled) man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”6 he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” 7 Then the man got up and went home. In Luke by Jesus just seeing faithfulness he forgave Luke 5 20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” Yet another story just by a touch a women who had a disorder that had made her bleed for 12 years was healed just by a touch because of her faith Luke 8 43 A woman was there who had a sickness that made her bleed. Her sickness had lasted for 12 years. No one could heal her. 44 She came up behind Jesus and touched the edge of his clothes. Right away her bleeding stopped. 45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. Everyone said they didn’t do it. Then Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pushing against you.”46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me. I know that power has gone out from me.”47 The woman realized that people would notice her. Shaking with fear, she came and fell at his feet. In front of everyone, she told why she had touched him. She also told how she had been healed in an instant. 48 Then he said to her, “Dear woman, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” To gain righteousness all we need is faith Romans 1 17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” In the bible it explains that through faith and not good works or the law that we are saved because Christ took our sins on the cross. Galatians 3 11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” 12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
Always remember believe, have faith, that is what he wants and you can never love too much!
He Will Never Forgive Me!
I have talked with so many friends and people who have told me many times “I have done too many bad things there is no hope for me”. Did you know that God loves you and wants to know you more! He will forgive you and help you to know him better. One of the best explanations I ever heard; What would you do for your children? I know I would do anything! God is our Father, our Dad so what do you think he would do for you as one of his children?
One of the most powerful stories in the bible will show you yes you can.
Who was Saul? Acts 13:9 9 Then Saul, who was also called Paul.
Jesus gave us directions on how to pray
Matthew 6 5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
When I pray I talk to God like I am talking to a friend. You do not have to go into a long drawn out speech a simple thank you lord, help lord, or you are awesome lord will do. When you have more to ask just talk, he can hear you! When I talk to him I start with Dear Heavenly Father, Others use Father God, still others start by saying Jesus it does not matter how you start as long as you pray. While praying remember how would you talk to a friend; relaxed, with love, with respect? Remember he already knows what we need all we have to do is ask. It takes humility to ask for what we need, when we go in front of him with humility and respect he will be there with his arms wide open. In Jesus name Amen!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for all that you do, all that you have shown me. With the great and awesome things that you do in my life it is hard to call it faith when you have made yourself so apparent that I know that you are here; Thank you again Lord. In Jesus Name Amen
Dear Heavenly Father, with all of the news surrounding us please comfort those who are afraid surround them in your love and let them know you got this! Thank you Lord; for your unwavering love and patience. In Jesus Name Amen
Deuteronomy 7 21 Do not be terrified by them, for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your faithfulness Lord, I do not deserve the love that you share with me on a daily basis. Thank you for being the example of what is good and pure so that I have the tools I need to make the right decisions. In Jesus Name Amen
Dear Heavenly Father, as I enter this day please give me the words that I need to share who you are and help me present your love to all that seriously need you Lord. Thank you for the awesome gifts that you have given me. In Jesus Name Amen
As we sit here being splashed with rainbows and the talk of love and acceptance. We wonder where the love and acceptance is when as Christians we are getting bashed left and right. Pictures of people disrespecting the way we believe; yet telling us that we have to respect them. All the time wondering where the “love” everyone is talking about went. It gets kind of hard to be respectful, sometimes hard to share the true love that Christ commanded us to allocate. Jesus told us that this would happen and gave us directions on how to deal with it and how we should react.
John 15: 18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
Jesus told us that people would not understand the way we believe:
Mark 4:11 “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables 12 so that, “they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!”
Matthew 13:14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. 15 For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.
He has been telling us this as far back as the Old Testament:
Isaiah 6: 9 He said, “Go and tell this people: “Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving. 10 Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”
So if they do not understand what they are doing how can we figure that they will not do anything different then what they are doing:
2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.
Satan is good at the lies that he presents when he disguises everything that is wrong as something that is good it makes us feel like the wrongs are right. He uses shame to keep others quiet, he uses our own fears and tries to make so we use our feelings as our guide. That is why we need to pray:
Philippians 4: 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And when you do this remember what was said:
1 Thessalonians 17 Pray without ceasing
God put together a guide (Holy Bible) for everything that we face on a daily basis the answers are in that guide.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
I know that looking around we see the lack of respect, the intolerance, hate, murders, rapes, stealing the list could keep going on and on. It is hard to not just sit back start pointing fingers and talking down to others or not have any interaction with society. The current surroundings can cause a sense of anxiety. We are reminded that we are no better than anybody else a sin is a sin:
1 Corinthians 6: 7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. 9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
For us to put ourselves on a pedestal and act like we are better than anyone else is not what we are told. When Christ was on this earth he surrounded himself with sinners, the people that where considered the worst of the worst. He wants everybody to either know or to at least receive the opportunity to have that relationship with him. I know we all know that felling, we feel when some self-righteous person is standing over top of us pointing there finger acting like they are either better or know more than we do. It can happen anywhere work, play, you name it. We will shut down, ignore it, or get up and fight; this is human nature. This is what they feel we are doing to them right now, there have been people that are not using Gods message of Love, and they are letting their feelings guide them and not Gods. As Christians we have now all been placed in the same category as the ones that are using their feelings and not Gods. But Christ did tell us:
Mark 2:17 “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
When we are standing here looking at the current events that surround us we need to STOP and take a deep breath. We need to remember that we are sinners too; we are guilty of doing things that do not please God.
1 John 1 :8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
God commanded us to love our neighbors and if we are replying to our neighbors in the same manner as they are we are not doing what we are told.
Remember Jesus said:
Mark 7 :20 “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come.
Always remember to love 1 Peter 3: 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
Dear Heavenly Father, please forgive me for passing judgement on others, I need to remember I am no better. Help give me the humility to share your word and give me the words that you want me to communicate to your children. Help clear my eyes so that I can reveal what you want revealed. In Jesus Name Amen
1 Corinthians 5:12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside.
Dear Heavenly Father, as this is read give understanding and conviction to those reading this. May there be understanding where there needs to be understanding and conviction where there needs to be conviction. Please soften the hearts of those reading this and open them to receive Your message. In Jesus Name Amen
Over the last few days I have seen all of the fighting, the name calling, insults, character bashing and I wonder why. We as Christians and human beings are told that we should not return evil with evil: 1 Peter 3: 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. That is one definition of Respect. With that said I do not blame any of the uncertainties that there are out there. I will just say one thing and that is CAKE, we all know what happened. But we have been commanded: Romans 12: 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. I know that when we observe the respect that we are expected to give others yet receive disrespect in every manner that you can imagine, it gets disheartening. We are still told that 1 Peter 23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. We should always respond with meekness: Matthew 5: 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. We have been instructed to follow in the footsteps that Jesus gave us, to walk on the path that he took. 1 Peter 21: 21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. There are two things that we should never forget, his commandments to LOVE one another: Matthew 22: 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. And with that said never forget: Luke 6: 31 Do to others as you would have them do to you. Jesus did not say these things were acceptable but he did say we need to Love everyone. Continue……
Dear Heavenly Father, as this day unwinds please forgive me of any misguided thoughts and any foolish misconceptions Lord. I know that you have everything under control, that you guide my steps in everything I do, you are awesome Lord. Thank you so much for all that you do. In Jesus Name Amen
1 Peter 5: 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Dear Heavenly Father, as this day continues to move forward thank you for reminding me that we are just dust. All of us were made from the dust of the earth where none is better than the other we all started as dirt and will return as dirt. No matter what is said or insinuated; they are no different than me because you were the only perfect human being. When I am persecuted, berated, criticized and condemned in your name Lord I understand that I must rejoice and will be glad because I know the reward that you have waiting for me in heaven. In Jesus Name Amen
Jesus loves you and wants to have a close and personal relationship with you! He wants to help you when you are in times of need, he wants to comfort you when you feel down, and he wants to be there when you need someone to lean on. He just wants to be your friend and he says John 15:15 “I have called you friends”
This was posted by a friend who wished to stay anonymous. Often I find my heart wandering. I have chased the winds in the mountains pursuing the outdoorsman life, sought after the love of family, which care little of much more than themselves. This does have exceptions yet I find my heart chastening after much more, something more. I have had a relationship with God for many years and he is fulfilling but aside from spiritual fulfillment I do concur that everything truly is meaningless. We eat to grow, and we live to die. I used to believe this was a sorry life, that it just wastes time. My thinking has changed but I find my heart troubled with much.
There are so many things in this life that are distracting, tantalizing, and all out intriguing. Our lives are shaped by who we are now and whom we choose to let in our lives. As a man that I look up to once said, I am jealous for my future. Not because I seek to know my future but because I choose to shape it so that it has every chance available. Whether right or wrong, I do have the option to choose who partakes in my present because I care for my future. We only get one future.
There are so many things to be distracted with in this life it makes me wonder how we see past the fog. Clarity is a must as life is fogged with shiny things. We are no better than a raccoon that is caught in a trap seeking pretty little things. Our own lives are stalled and we get stuck in situations waiting for things to change. We aren’t willing to let go of the problems because they are shiny, exciting, and curious. We are trapped forever in our own creation of what life is for.
Seek first the Kingdom and the rest shall be revealed. It is a statement that brings about questions. We get so lost trying to figure out how we should seek the Kingdom that we simply lose track of why. The “why” is important, as it is the reason we were created. Fulfillment of our souls is possible. Wandering is not necessary. So many things are possible if we just seek God and his mission forsaking our own. I am not telling you to quit your job. I’m not telling you to quit doing things you enjoy. I am saying however, to quit allowing them to distract you.
We are brought into this world with or without a family. We require food, water, and shelter to live. Everything else is just a bonus. Nothing else matters besides our relationship with Jesus Christ. These are things God has promised to provide us. If we seek him are we not creating a future for ourselves? It is food for thought. The truth is that we need nothing else to live. We are rich beyond our own understanding. There are places in this world that struggle for water and food. We struggle to buy a nicer car, when the car we have runs and drives fine. Is it wrong to buy a nice car? No, but letting it cloud our view or shape our future is ignorant. The question to ask yourself is how much do you need to be happy? I want to challenge you to write down 10 things that you think will make you happy. Tuck this list away and come back to it in one year. If you have achieved any of these things, is there not something better? Are you truly satisfied with the things on your list, or do you need more things. Maybe they will satisfy.
Water can be seen through, the sky is invisible but for some reason if you mix the two you can’t see twenty feet in dense clouds. Our lives are exactly like this. We choose to place importance on things and elevate them into a perfectly clear area or path and make it clouded. Each is fine when in their own perspectives, but out of place they find confusion and chaos. They can bring storms, torrential downpours, or drown a turkey. (Sorry, had to throw that one in there)
What am I getting to? Our lives are too important to let others or things shape our futures. You only get to live once and your choices do shape everything about your future. Life is all about love. One man’s compassion for humanity and his mission to save every lost person this earth holds. Seek first his kingdom, his mission, and show his love and compassion. The rest will fall into place. In due time; the rest of the things in life will reveal themselves. John 3 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. God bless you all.
I hear a lot say that the bible was wrote thousands of years ago how is it significant to the time we live in now. Fact is that we are human beings and our human nature never changes. Sure they did not have an iPad, the latest kindle, or the best smart phone but they still had to deal with being afraid, wondering how they would live, and what others thought of them. That has never changed we are humans, Jesus came to earth so he could be an example for us. He showed us that it is possible even when we think it is impossible. HE UNDERSTANDS! Hebrews 2 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
