Ezekiel 34:2–4

“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and tell them, even the shepherds, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep? You eat the fat. You clothe yourself with the wool. You kill the fatlings, but you don’t feed the sheep. You haven’t strengthened the diseased. You haven’t healed that which was sick. You haven’t bound up that which was broken. You haven’t brought back that which was driven away. You haven’t sought that which was lost, but you have ruled over them with force and with rigor.

These verses warn us against leaders who use their position for personal gain instead of caring for the people God entrusted to them. The shepherds fed themselves but neglected the weak, the sick, and the lost. God takes this seriously because leadership is meant to reflect His heart. Whether in church, family, or daily influence, true leadership serves others with compassion and responsibility. Ask God to give you a shepherd’s heart, one that strengthens the weak, seeks the wandering, and cares faithfully for those placed in your life.

Leadership

When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. John 13:12-15 (ESV)

Throughout the bible we are told to help tend His flock; the broken hearted, widows, children, and hurting people. We have been instructed to serve and not be served, to Love even when you are hated, and to hope even when it seems hopeless.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to lead the way that You lead, to see the way that You see, to feel the way You feel. Lord surround Your leaders with that impenetrable fiery wall of protection You put around Jerusalem, cover them with Your blood and fill them with the Holy Spirit directing every step they take. In Jesus Name Amen
