Pump You Up

bible Pump you up

Episians 6:10 NIV be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Dear Heavenly Father, as I walk through this life I need You, I need You to give me strength, I need You to take away my fears, I need You when I am doing something new, I need You when I am sleeping, I need You when I hurt, I need You when I don’t feel like I am good enough, I need You Lord in everything that I do. Lord be my guide, the light that directs me, the path that supports my feet, the wall that surrounds my house. Lord I am on my knees crying out to You Father protect me, guide me and use me to glorify You. In Jesus Name Amen

Be Strong

Ephesians 6:10-11 NIV  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Have you ever wondered what the devil’s schemes are? We are told that the devil: Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV) And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14 (NIV) So breaking that down you kind of get an idea of what the devil is trying to do, he is looking for those who are easy to devour. If we look to nature we see that Lions, wolves, or bears look for the easiest prey. Likewise this is what satan does. The next thing we are told is that he disguises himself as an angel of light. So the devil will find ways to make the things that he supports look good so that we become that easy prey.

The Fight

Ephesians 6:12 NIV For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. When we struggle we need to understand that sometimes we are being played with, we are part of a temper-tantrum that the devil is having. He was thrown out of heaven because of pride: “How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit. Isaiah 14:12-15 ESV You know what a fit looks like, they do not care what they do or who they hurt. We need to remember that: He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, Colossians 1:13 ESV He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. Colossians 2:15 ESV

Stand your Ground

Ephesians 6:13 NIV Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. The protection of a full suit of armor would be an item that protects you from most things that might get hurled at you. Could you imagine walking around with a full suit of protection wherever you go? Well God has given us that ability to always walk around fully protected. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:36 ESV For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4 ESV

Actual State of a Matter

Ephesians 6:14 NIV  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,

I have heard some lately explain truth as relative to the situation however truth is always what its definition is “the true or actual state of a matter.*If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8 ESV The truth is important if caught in a lie it places doubt in those around you. If we lie it invites satan in to convince us that it worked this time “I can do it again and again and no one will know it’s not hurting them.” Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Ephesians 4:25 ESV Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; Psalm 86:11 ESV When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. John 16:13 ESV

Virtuous

Ephesians 6:14 NIV with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

Sometimes it is easy to do something that will benefit ourselves but could possibly hurt someone else, always choose the avenue that does not hurt that other person. Sometimes that will cost us a little but when trying to advance ourselves using the wrong motives will eventually come back to bite us. The meaning of righteousness is “acting in an upright, moral way; virtuous.*” Chivalry is not dead; there are still morals because when we act upright we are the example and it is contagious. He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure. Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty; they will see a land that stretches afar. Isaiah 33:15-17 ESV ESV But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. 1 Peter 3:14 So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22 ESV

Peace

Ephesians 6:15 NIV and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

I know that sometimes peace seems so hard to obtain when someone does not agree with us, our teenager just looks at you and defiantly does what they knew they were not supposed to do. When your significant other will simply not regard anything that you have to say; peace seems like the last thing that you want. Then we look at the meaning of peace, ”a state of mutual harmony between people or groups, especially in personal relations.*” Harmony is the last thing that is on our minds when we feel disrespected, we need to make sure we are the solution for a resolution otherwise we are creating a attitude of unharmonious chaos that only hurts ourselves. Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14 ESV Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.” Mark 9:50 ESV And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15 ESV

Shielded

Ephesians 6:16 NIV  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6 ESV When we believe with all of our heart there is something to be said about the power of God. We will start to see how much He does for us every day you will be overwhelmed with the blessings that you see. The definition of the word faith sums up how to believe “confidence or trust in a person or thing.*” I have found that as I place more and more of my trust in Jesus (sometimes hard to let someone else take control) He shows me Himself so much that my confidence in Him becomes so reassured that it is unmistakable that our God is here taking care me/us. And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” Mark 9:23 ESV He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20 ESV I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 ESV

Protected

Ephesians 6:17 NIV Take the helmet of salvation

The helmet is an object that protects one of the most important and easiest to hurt parts of our body our head. With this little item protecting one of the most important parts of our body let’s look at what salvation is “the act of saving or protecting from harm, risk, loss, destruction, the state of being saved or protected from harm or risk. It’s the deliverance from the power and penalty of sin; redemption.” Wow no wonder salvation is called the helmet! When we ask Jesus Christ into our lives our salvation begins and is so easy to start down that path: And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 ESV Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 ESV For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble. Psalm 37:39 ESV

Ammunition

Ephesians 6:17 NIV  the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The word of God, the bible, we have been given this book that I call our owner’s manual. It gives us direction for all aspects of our lives and every circumstance that we will run into. This is why it is called the sword of the Spirit, it can cut through deception we tell ourselves, the deception that others are trying to convince us of. It gives us advice for dealing with relationships, inspiration and answers the hard questions. It is legitimate in its entirety Old and New Testaments, something I tell people all the time “they dealt with the same human imperfections that we do now the difference is they drove chariots and we drive cars.” For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 ESV All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105 ESV This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9 ESV

Prayer

Ephesians 6:18 NIV And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

We are told here to pray on all occasions, have you ever wondered why we are told to pray? I want to give you something to think about, when we are build a relationship with someone we talk to them. We try to learn what they like, what they love to do, who is important to them. When we pray we are doing the same thing with God, we get to know Him more through prayer. We even will get to know ourselves better because He will lead us into subjects that sometimes we have never even thought of. Prayer is so important for asking for His protection over us and others. For healing, direction and the list is infinitely huge on what we can pray for. And always thank Him for what He does no one likes a one sided relationship that is take, take, take it is our responsibility to give thanks were thanks is due. The meaning of prayer is “a devout petition to God or an object of worship. Spiritual communion with God or an object of worship, as in supplication, thanksgiving, adoration, or confession.*” Hmm, thanksgiving, worship and confession from that there is not too much left to be said. Pray without ceasing, Romans 8:26 ESV Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6 ESV If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. John 15:7 ESV Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24 ESV And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Luke 11:9 ESV Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. Jeremiah 33:3 ESV But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Matthew 6:6-7 ESV Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 ESV First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 ESV Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. James 5:16 ESV

10,000 Reasons

And on that day when my strength is failing….

BFF!

bible bff

Jesus loves you and wants to have a close and personal relationship with you! He wants to help you when you are in times of need, he wants to comfort you when you feel down, and he wants to be there when you need someone to lean on. He just wants to be your friend and he says John 15:15 “I have called you friends”

Let there be love!

He loves us

God is love! Ephesians 3:19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. God wants to know us on a personal level he yearns to be our friend John 15:15 “I have called you friends” When we become one of his friends we then fall under his protection Jeremiah 29:11-14 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord”. Through his love he sends you help through the holy spirit and his angels Hebrews 1 14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? He loves us so much that he gave his only son so that we will be saved John 3 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned

Been there done that!

Bible tempted

I hear a lot say that the bible was wrote thousands of years ago how is it significant to the time we live in now. Fact is that we are human beings and our human nature never changes. Sure they did not have an iPad, the latest kindle, or the best smart phone but they still had to deal with being afraid, wondering how they would live, and what others thought of them. That has never changed we are humans, Jesus came to earth so he could be an example for us. He showed us that it is possible even when we think it is impossible. HE UNDERSTANDS! Hebrews 2 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Take his hand!

Bible his hand

Some of my best memories were when my parents were extending out thier hand to comfort me, letting me know it was alright. Our Father in heaven does the same thing for us. He tells us in the bible that is there to comfort us and not to be afraid!Isaiah 41 13 For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

An important question Jesus asked!

Bible Why

This question is one that we should all consider. We all do it in one form or the other. With this question he will explain why you should not do it any more! Matthew 6 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

Worry?

Bible trust him

Why worry about what is going to happen? Why be afraid? God is here for you and will take care of you. 1 Peter 5 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Come Closer!

Bible ephesians 2

When you feel like you are all alone and in the middle of no where and like no one is there. Always remember to call on the name of Jesus and He will offer you comfort. Ephisians 2 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

A message for all! Our #favorite

Bible take his hand

I see so many point fingers at others because they are not believers, we have been instructed not to judge the unsaved. Some Christians, not all, have issues because that person is “rougher” then they are and speak differently. Remember we are all different people coming from different backgrounds, if you share with someone in a manner that comes of as condemning and vitriol. You will give a perception that you think you are better then them or you are looking down on them, which in turn will make them not listen. Do you blame them? We are all sinners on the same level we all sin! We are not commanded to make all people happy, in fact it says in the bible that his message will upset some people. But that does not mean that we stand and point out everyone’s issues, Jesus is love, share in love and you will be surprised what happens! Jesus hung out with sinners and said many times that He did not come for the saved He came for sinners. That is why the profit Paul said this: 1 Corinthians 9 22  I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.

Why do you Question him?

Bible yes you can

God does not lie, He does not tell stories; the bible is not a book of fairy tales! Time and time again throughout the bible He pleads for everyone to come to Him and get to know Him. When He has said it so many times, why do you question how important you are to Him? Joel 2 32 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved;

OPEN the Door!

Bible open the door

He is waiting for you to open the door He wants the invitation to come in! No matter who you are He is anticipating your welcome at the door!   Revelations 3 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. 21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear

One Little, Two LIttle…..

Bible hair

There is an old saying; I know that place, person, job or whatever you are talking about like the back of my hand. Did you know that God knows you so well that He knows even the hairs on your head. Matthew 10 30 Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. God is here for you and when you need anything who better to help you than someone who knows you better than you know yourself!

To open our eyes!

Bible knock knock

When I sat down and prayed this morning God gave me something profound to share. Many times Jesus said that He came for the sick not the healthy. So who are the sick? We all are! He wants to know all of us, He wants to help us be better people. He wants us all to come home and to be with Him in heaven, not just a few! We are all the same, “for all have sinned”, so knock on the door He will invite you in. Isaiah 42 6 “I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles,7 to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.

Our God is an Awesome God!

Bible Romans 8 28

What God does for us is unexplainable he takes care of us! He will take care of us in this life and in the next. Everything we do should be for Him. Everything He did was for us! Romans 8 28 God works for the good of those who love him

To Believe or Not to Believe?

One of the most simple/difficult things we are told to do is believe. Simple because we just need to believe; difficult because as humans if we do not see it we do not believe it. This holds more true in the time we live. As we get to know Jesus more it will become so evident that he is real that we question how it could be called faith.  Quite simply you have no doubt because of what he has done in your life! Acts 16 31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved”

Denominataionalizm

Today God has put something on my heart. Why as Christians do we fight between each other when there are children around the world being persecuted because they follow Christ. I personally dislike all of the theatrical confusion that the denominations cause, apparently God does not like it either. It says in   There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:4-6 (sometimes that verse is taken out of context Jesus said in “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6) God dislikes it when we squabble and argue Paul said it best:  For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder. 2 Corinthians 12: 20 Furthermore he told us: If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. Galatians 5:15 Why would we want to destroy each other? And why would we do it and say that it is for Christ our savior who commanded us to love each other?  Love each other as I have loved you. John 15:12

There is something that so many forget, He sent us a guide: The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”Romans 8:15 All of these different rules that human beings have made through each of the different denominations are causing us to loose what is important, Paul dealt with exact issue: I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:6-9 This comes from our human need to control everything. We are reminded of this in Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. God knows us well enough that this why many times in the bible He tells us to depend on Him.

When we allow our opinions and promote this discontent we start to forget what Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6  as we continue to  make our rules more important than Gods rules it is making us fail to recall what we have been told:  Love each other as I have loved you. John 15:12 and remember that Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar. Proverbs 30:5-6 When this happens it makes it easy for us to be deceived and why we have been warned: For false Christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Matthew 24:24 I am not pointing my finger at any one denomination or picking on one person, we all have to remember what we have been told:  Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand. One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. Romans 14: 1-13

We need to remember that God loves us and we need to quit fighting between ourselves and remember His children. Stop fighting; I do not think I can repeat that to much it is our human nature; this very nature is addressed in James 4:1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? With that tendency within us if we focus on the salvation we have been given through Jesus Christ and his forgiveness and realize that we are not of this world If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. John 15:19 So we need to STOP acting like we are of the world. Psalm 133:1 says it best: How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!

Finally always remember that I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:10 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:3-6  I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:1-2 As a christian we have been called to be one community through the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost.
