The Light that Caused the Darkness

There is a deep kind of pain that comes when the people who we thought were family and were meant to reflect God’s light but instead become a source of darkness. Church hurt cuts deeply because it often comes wrapped in Scripture, authority, and trust. Jesus warned that not everyone who speaks in His name truly represents His heart. Some leaders use the Bible for power, control, recognition, or financial gain rather than for serving God’s people.

Jesus spoke strongly, forcefully and firmly against spiritual hypocrisy. He rebuked the religious leaders who honored God outwardly while their hearts were far from Him Matthew 23:27–28 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones and of all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.” The apostle Peter warned about false teachers who would “exploit you with fabricated stories”

2 Peter 2:3 “In covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words: whose sentence now from of old doesn’t linger, and their destruction will not slumber.” Paul also cautioned that some would use godliness as a means to personal profit instead of genuine ministry 1 Timothy 6:5 “constant friction of people of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. Withdraw yourself from such.” Scripture does not ignore spiritual abuse, it exposes it.

Always remember that even when people misuse God’s Word, it does not change who God truly is. The failure of these faulty, defective and flawed leaders is not the failure of Christ. Darkness may have come through those who carried the light poorly, it does not matter Jesus still remains the true Light of the world John 8:12 “Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.” God sees every wound that has been caused by manipulation, pride, and spiritual betrayal. He is close to the brokenhearted and faithful to heal those who have been crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

So if church hurt has made you fearful, angry, or distant from God, remember this overwhelmingly: Jesus never asked you to place your faith in human perfection. He asked you to place your faith in Him. Healthy spiritual leadership reflects humility, truth, love, and service, not control or self-glory. God can restore what others damaged and rebuild trust where pain once lived.

Thought to Ponder:
Don’t allow the misuse of God’s Word by people to silence the voice of the true Shepherd.

Journaling Prompt:
What wounds from spiritual leadership do you need to bring honestly before God so healing can begin?

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, You see every hurt caused in places that were supposed to be safe. Heal the wounds left by misuse of authority and distorted truth. Help me separate human failure from Your perfect character. Restore my trust in You and guide me toward truth, wisdom, and healing. In Jesus Name Amen.

The Light in the Dark (part 4)

The Walk

This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:5-9 WEB

To open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’ Acts 26:18 WEB

As the light is being shed on all of the chaos. It is creating doubt making us stop and wonder why and how can people not see what is going on. Some have become so delusional that they are praising what is going on as being good. There are attacks on our children, our families, and values.

All of the distractions, are leading us away from the direction that Jesus told us we are a “a light to the world.” We need to stop covering the light. No matter how dark it seems or is we should never let the dark cover our light. Uncover and find that light, shout it out and let it shine.

You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 WEB

This has all been prophesied throughout the Bible the surest and only way to navigate through every thing that is going on is to follow the map we have been given, the Bible. We have Jesus’ words and the Holy Spirit as our personal guides.

That was a little of my commentary but this is what the bible says (God’s words)

He’s Got This

Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials, that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:6-7 WEB

He Chose You

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire Ephesians 1:3-5 WEB

God is Faithful

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 WEB

Your Not of This World

For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him; knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over him! For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God. Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:5-11 WEB

His Light is Becoming Brighter

But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron, forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 1 Timothy 4:1-3 WEB

How to Fight the Dark

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God,

that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood,

but against the principalities,

against the powers,

against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age,

and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist,

and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace,

above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.

And take the helmet of salvation,

and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit,

and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for guiding my footsteps when life has seemed its darkest You have always carried me through. Making sure that my feet have landed where they should. I am sorry for the times I have doubted You but still you have kept on the path. In Jesus Name Amen

The Light in the Dark (part 3)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it. John 1-5 WEB

When we look around and wonder what is going on. All of The confusion, those things that make us stop and wonder. Mean while they are being praised as being good. Attacks on our children, our families, and values.

If we focus on all of these distractions, because that is all that they are. Jesus told us that we are a light to the world and that we need to stop covering the light. We need to stop letting the dark cover our light, shout it out and let it shine.

BIble trust in god

Dear Heavenly Father, guide me throughout this day. Help me to see the lies that are around me that blind me from seeing the path that you want me take Lord. Lord you are my light in the darkness thank you for your awesome company! In Jesus Name Amen

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

Satan is good at the lies that he presents when he disguises everything that is wrong as something that is good it makes us feel like the wrongs are right. He uses shame to keep others quiet, he uses our own fears and tries to make so we use our feelings as our guide.
