Manipulation

Christians who are well acquainted with the Scriptures, may, in humble dependence on Divine teaching, discern those who set forth doctrines according to the apostles, and those who contradict them. Matthew Henrys Concise Commentary

There are so many views about the bible, Christ, God and how we should believe or not believe. This has so much to do with how our brains process those things that have happened in our live or throughout history; “psychology”. Those things that have happened in our lives will continually change the view for how we process things. It can be used to manipulate people into believing whatever they are trying to convince themselves and others to believe. There are so many different points of view in the world today; some do not even know that they are being influenced. If we understand what we are told in the bible: And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. ^{2 Corinthians 11:14-15 NIV}and remember Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. ^{Hebrews 13:8 ESV} In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ^{John 1:1 NIV} The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. ^{John 1:14} When we really think about how the devil tries every way he can to deceive us than we can grasp how important it is to read and know the owner’s manual that God has given us. Just by spending ten minutes a day in the bible we can understand the “good news” that Jesus has for us and help us not be misled.

The things of this life will be taken away from us, at the furthest, when we shall be taken away from them; but nothing shall separate from the love of Christ, and a part in that love. Men and devils cannot take it away from us, and God and Christ will not. Let us mind the one thing needful more diligently. Matthew Henrys Concise Commentary

One day Jesus was at one of His followers houses Martha, she went through her house and made it presentable was she waiting on her guests so that everything was perfect; we all do this when we have company over. Could you imagine how much you’d do if you know that Jesus was stopping by. Mary, Martha’s sister, was there and sitting by Jesus listening to every word that He said. This irritated Martha that her sister would not even help her so much so that she interrupted Jesus and said “it’s not fair tell her to help me” (Luke 10:40 ESV) Jesus the good shepherd and teacher He is; did not rebuke Martha because she interrupted Him. He did not stand up and look at Mary yell at her and tell her to get up and help Martha. Instead He said, “Martha, my beloved Martha. Why are you upset and troubled, pulled away by all these many distractions? Are they really that important? Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet. She is undistracted, and I won’t take this privilege from her.” ^{Luke 10:41-42 TPT} Sometimes the distractions, busyness, and the fear will keep us from seeing what Jesus is trying to tell us. With everything that is going on right now have you been distracted worried about things and allowing it to pull you away from those things that are important. Right now it sucks because of all that is going on, but this will pass. Have you taken the time to look at what is most important? Take some time and “sit at Jesus feet” His direction will never let you down .

What is the fastest way to cause fear, anxiety, loneliness, confusion or any one of the feelings that cause some kind of emotional response? With confusion we are led head first into a storm of feelings that if fed will burn out of control like a wildfire. The devil is like a conductor in a symphony; he has had years to perfect how he guides those he controls and deceives. The devil likes to keep us distracted he’s been doing it since time began, all the way back to the garden of Eden. The devil likes to use things like; “yeah but (garden of Eden Genesis 3), if I (Job 1), if you (Matthew 4) whatever he can use to take your eye off of what is important the devil will use. Remember even the devil disguises himself as an angel of light ^{2 Corinthians 11:14 ESV}When we realize that we understand how much, if we do not keep our eye on God, can be directed into this confusion storm that we put ourselves in.

If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.

Love cares more for others than for self.

Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.

Love doesn’t strut,

Doesn’t have a swelled head,

Doesn’t force itself on others,

Isn’t always “me first,”

Doesn’t fly off the handle,

Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,

Doesn’t revel when others grovel,

Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,

Puts up with anything,

Trusts God always,

Always looks for the best,

Never looks back,

But keeps going to the end.

Have you ever had the power go out no light and totally silent? It’s completely black this is the only way to get a close idea of what it is like to be blind. I have something called Multiple Sclerosis and one of the things that I have gotten to experience was a symptom called Ocular Neuritis, this caused me temporary blindness. This messed with my equilibrium if I moved to fast I would lose my balance. Any little obstacle would trip me up make me fall everything seemed uneven. Through all of it God was there guiding me every step I took. I can say from experience that He will guide you all you have to do is ask!

Daily Verse

The Lord is our strength to support us in either service or suffering, as well as our shield to protect us from the designs of the enemy. The heart that truly believes in Him shall in due time greatly rejoice. Summarized Bible

When we were children, not yet having the weight of the world, which as adults we love to put on ourselves, the eyes that our life was seen through was one of wonder and celebration. Children can teach us so much about how God wants us to live. They look up to their having faith that they will be protected from any danger that might come their way. A child has a certain amount of boldness because they know that their parents have their back. When a youngster receives a gift or surprise they are so thankful for what they have received, as a parent we know that sometimes it is short lived but none the less they are still elated. As adults why don’t we trust that God has got our back and celebrate the wins that He has given each one of us? He shields and strengthens us, have faith that He is bigger than your mediocrity. Shout at the top of your lungs I love you Lord and thank Him for all that He has done for you. Unwrap the day that you are beginning with the same innocence and wonder that a child has; celebrate the remarkable opportunities that are in front of you! Always find the positive in every situation and everything you do, rejoice!

Being Young

It is a fearful ordeal that every young man and woman has to face, as he or she steps across the dividing boundary between childhood and youth, when parental authority is weakened, and the leading-strings are loosened, and the young swimmer is as it were cut away from the buoys, and has to battle with the waves alone. ^{Alexander MacLaren}

I knew better

When I was young I loved to goof of always looking for a ways to have fun. I did things in my life when I was younger that I can say now I am not proud of. I hurt people that loved me always looking for ways to better myself ignoring what I knew was right. Then I hit the stage where girls caught my eye and I can say temptation is a hard thing to fight. We live in a world that teaches us to always do what makes one happy no matter the price. Women, drugs, alcohol, fast cars you name it if there was something that would make me feel some kind of rush/enjoyment I would check it out. I was not raised to be that way as a child I had to be in the house every day to read the bible and spend time with my family in God’s word. I knew better then to do some of the things that I was doing but because of things that happened throughout my childhood I thought there was a better way. I dismissed those teachings I had learned and felt to find that better way. Needless to say there was not; if I had just listened to the teachings that I had read in the bible there sure would have been less hurt and a lot fewer scars. I had the word in my heart I just did everything I could not to access it, I know now that if I had listened to the guide that God gave me, the bible, life would have had fewer obstacles to over come.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.^{2 Corinthians 11:12-15 ESV}

“Hypocrisy may be looked for, especially when we consider the great power which Satan, who rules in the hearts of the children of disobedience, has upon the minds of many. I bought some automotive parts from a discount automotive internet site one time. These parts had a high rating on their feedback; hundreds of happy customers had purchased these parts and were ecstatically happy with their quality. When I received them they looked all right, did not look as heavy duty as the original parts I was replacing them with, but that was explained on their site that it was because the metal used to manufacture these parts was higher quality. Well I put them on my car and within a few months they needed to be replaced again. These were suspension parts and if they would have failed it could have caused a terrible accident. I should have known better “if it’s too good to be true it probably is.” That business is no longer around because it turned out that the feedback was fake and had been created by the site owners, this was a long time ago before they have the regulations they do now. Just like the deceitfulness of the devil, he appears to be something that is oh so good but in the long run he will let you down. Nobody likes to get something that is fake or made to look like something it is not. That is why it so imperative to know the bible and have a relationship with God, He gives His Holy Spirit and word, which helps us to know what is right and what is wrong.

Sometimes it seems like receiving that Drink of Jesus is hard to swallow or even worse we have convinced ourselves that it will never come. I can say from personal experience that even though it seems like it is too hard to bear that we cannot take another step the thing we need the most is a refreshing Drink of Jesus. Open up your bible read the Psalms the promises and word that is received when reading them is refreshing and uplifting. When you get past the trails that are in the way the endurance that will be built will help make you a stronger and yes even healthier you that will be prepared to take on the things that get tossed your way.

“Truth is a representation of things as they are; and they were constantly to live under the correct impression of objects. A man who is false to his engagements, or false in his statements and promises, is one who will always disgrace their beliefs.” ^{Albert Barnes}

We are driving down the road we turn on our blinker to merge into the lane on the side of us. We start to turn and all of a sudden someone else from behind you swings in to the lane, no blinker, cuts you off and shows you that you are number one. That is so frustrating your knee jerk reaction is to show them they are also number one, but we need to rise above some of those little ingrained automatic reactions. To be pure and to be honorable means that we have to take ourselves out of the normal and become abnormal, rise above it! Yes I know sometimes that is really hard and seems impossible. Pray and thank God that He protected you from something that could have been bad; thank Him that you did not make it worse. Always remember people will look to you for guidance and if we look no different than the world; than what are we saying? We need to make the statement that we are different and that there is a better way.
