Luke 15:20

Bible Luke

“He arose and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion, and ran, fell on his neck, and kissed him.

In the Gospel of Luke verse 15:20, we see the heart of God being revealed through the father who runs to his returning son. Before his ever whispered a word of apology, compassion moves him to embrace, restore, and celebrate. This moment captures the essence of grace, forgiveness, and unconditional love. No matter how far someone has wandered, God is always watching, waiting, and ready to welcome them home. It’s a powerful picture of redemption, second chances, and the overwhelming mercy found in God’s presence.

Mark 14:6

Bible showing MARK, CHAPTER 1.

But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me.

In the Gospel of Mark verse 14:6, Jesus defends a woman who anoints Him with expensive perfume, declaring, “She has done a beautiful thing to me.” While others criticized her for waste, Jesus recognized her act as sacrificial worship and preparation for His burial. This moment reveals that true devotion is not measured by everybody else’s opinion but by the heart behind what is being offered. It reminds us that honoring Christ with costly, sincere love is never wasted, it is seen, valued, and remembered by God.

The Army said Monday that it has launched a review after singer and rapper Kid Rock shared a video to social media that shows a pair of Apache helicopters flying outside of his Tennessee house, in what an Army official confirmed to CBS News was a training flight. Maj. Montrell Russell, a spokesman for the Army, said in a statement the Army is aware of the video that shows AH-64 Apache helicopters operating near Kid Rock’s house, located near Nashville.

“Army aviators must adhere to strict safety standards, professionalism, and established flight regulations,” Russell said. “An administrative review is underway to assess the mission and verify compliance with regulations and airspace requirements. Appropriate action will be taken if any violations are found.” Maj. Jonathon Bless, a spokesperson for the 101st Airborne Division, said the command has opened an investigation “to review the circumstances surrounding this activity.”

Michigan synagogue attack was Hezbollah-inspired act of terrorism, FBI says

men having conversation while investigating

The attack earlier this month on a synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan, was “a Hezbollah-inspired act of terrorism purposely targeting the Jewish community and the largest Jewish temple in Michigan,” the FBI said in a news conference Monday.

The assailant, Ayman Ghazali, a naturalized US citizen from Lebanon, rammed a pickup truck into the synagogue on March 12, as more than 100 children were attending school inside.

After waiting in the synagogue’s parking lot for more than two hours, authorities said, Ghazali drove the truck far into the building – hitting a security officer – before the vehicle became wedged in a hallway.

Security officers for the synagogue began exchanging gunfire with Ghazali, who eventually shot and killed himself inside the truck. During the chaos, the truck’s engine compartment caught fire and caused extensive damage to the building. The truck was filled with over $2,000 of commercial-grade fireworks and about 35 gallons of gasoline, which he used to “enhance” the explosion, said Jennifer Runyan, the FBI’s special agent in charge in Detroit.

Sadistic lesbian foster moms made boy, 12, wear soaking wetsuit and joked ‘Shiver, shiver dumb f**k’ before his horrific death, murder trial hears

GNN. BREAKING NEWS GLOBAL CRISIS UNFLODS. EMERGENCY SUMMIT CALLED - MARKET VOLABLITY - EVACATIONS UNERWAY.

Two lesbian foster moms tortured a 12-year-old boy by forcing him to wear a soaking wetsuit as they mocked him in gut-wrenching messages before he was tragically found dead, prosecutors claim. The disturbing claims about the death of the Canadian child, identified only as LL, have come to light during the murder trial of Becky Hamber, 44, and 46-year-old Brandy Cooney. LL, who died on December 21, 2022, was found soaking wet, unresponsive, and emaciated in the basement of the couple’s Toronto-area home before being pronounced dead at the hospital, the court was told.

Attorneys finished their closing arguments on Friday, as both women have denied charges of first-degree murder, unlawful confinement, and assault with a weapon, according to Law & Crime.  Prosecutors used their final remarks to detail how the women allegedly starved LL and his younger brother, who has been identified as JL, and forced them to wear wetsuits and helmets. The foster mothers, who were in the process of adopting the boys, did it because they ‘hated’ the boys, attorneys told the court.

Democrats decry ‘smear’ as Trump FBI pushes for release of Eric Swalwell file

detectives in tilt shift lens

The Trump administration has reportedly been pushing to release records from an FBI investigation related to Eric Swalwell and alleged links to a Chinese agent as the Democratic congressman makes gains in the California governor’s race. The Washington Post reported on Saturday, citing “three people familiar with the effort”, that the FBI director, Kash Patel, is pushing to release the files, even though there is no public evidence of wrongdoing on Swalwell’s part.

The records stem from a decade-old investigation into a suspected spy who had developed relationships with US politicians and assisted Swalwell with fundraising. An FBI official previously said Swalwell was cooperative with the investigation and was not suspected of wrongdoing. He cut off contact with the woman after speaking to the FBI. The profile of Swalwell, an outspoken critic of Donald Trump who served as a congressional manager during the president’s second impeachment trial, has risen as the contest for California governor takes shape. The field of candidates to replace Gavin Newsom is crowded, with at least eight Democrats, including Swalwell, and two Republicans.

America’s prettiest city overrun with homeless ‘drug zombies’ under nightmare woke mayor

person holding silver and green scissors

An idyllic city known for its historic buildings and Southern charm has been beset by homelessness and drug use under a Democratic mayor. Savannah, Georgia, has long been promoted as one of America’s prettiest cities, with more than 20 public squares framed by churches, town houses and other historic buildings covered in Spanish moss. But when Dennis Lennox, a travel reporter for the Christian Post, returned to the city last year, he said he found it overrun by homeless individuals who engaged in overt drug use.

‘Benches and bushes served as makeshift encampments,’ he wrote in a column on Sunday. ‘In several places, the smell of marijuana hung in the air.’ At Reynolds Square, where a bronze statue honors the founder of Methodism, Lennox said he saw obvious drug use. ‘People injected and smoked in broad daylight,’ he wrote. ‘The odor was unmistakable. There was no police presence.’ Similar scenes sprang up across the city, according to Lennox. ‘A leisurely stroll, particularly in the early morning, became an exercise in caution; watching where to step, skirting encampments and avoiding potential confrontation.’

Trump administration sues Minnesota for allowing trans athletes in girls’ sports

woman in blue and white basketball jersey holding brown basketball

The US Department of Justice sued Minnesota’s education department and the state’s school athletics body on Monday for allowing transgender athletes to compete in girls’ sports. In a lawsuit, the justice department claims that by making female student athletes compete against transgender girls, as well as share locker rooms and bathrooms with them, Minnesota is violating Title IX – the federal law that prohibits sex-based discrimination for any programs that receive federal funding. “Minnesota’s policies and practices create unfair competition, deny girls equal educational opportunities, and expose girls to a hostile educational environment with heightened risks of physical injury and psychological harm,” the justice department argues in the suit filed on Monday. Minnesota has fought against the Trump administration’s efforts to remove transgender athletes from girls’ sports.

James 1:19

Bible book of JAMES CHAPTER 1.

So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;

In the Epistle of James verse 1:19, believers are called to live with intentional wisdom: be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. James 1:19 emphasizes emotional discipline and spiritual maturity, reminding us that reactive words can and at times lead to conflict, while patient listening invites understanding and peace. In our fast-paced world that is driven by opinions and outrage, this teaching offers a powerful blueprint for healthy relationships, godly communication, and Christ-centered living rooted in humility, self-control, and love.

Offense Is a Trap, Master Your Mouth, Control Your Anger, and Take Your Power Back 🔥

a woman in white coat with gagged mouth

Talk less, listen more, because wisdom speaks after it understands, not before. If you want stronger relationships and real influence, master this: control your tongue, calm your anger, and lead with quiet strength.

TLet every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. James 1:19

Offense often comes from rushed reactions. God told us to respond with restraint, not impulse. When slowing down we create space for wisdom, discernment, and grace. When we focus on our anger it becomes instruction and anger unleashed becomes destruction. God gives us a powerful strategy for overcoming offense: be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Once again it is important to realize that offense grows when we react quickly, assume the worst, and let our emotions lead. As we walk the path Jesus has for us and become aware of how we react or spiritual maturity will start to choose pause over reaction. When we slow down, we create space for understanding, healing, and wisdom. Not every word, jab, statement, or account deserves a response, and we’ll find that not every hurt needs retaliation. We can be assured that true strength, no matter how hard, is found in self-control, refusing offense and choosing peace, even when it’s hardest. “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven Ecclesiastes 3:1

Thought to Ponder:
Think before responding today, especially when irritated.

Journal Prompt:
What usually triggers my quick reactions?

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, give me the patience and understanding to slow my reactions and align my responses with Your Spirit. Help me to tolerate those things that drive me crazy in the chaos, to take that spiritual breath that only comes from You. In Jesus Name Amen

North Korea tests missile that it claims can target U.S. mainland

News anchor in a studio under a BREAKING NEWS sign with a GLOBAL CRISIS UNFOLDING display.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un observed a test of an upgraded solid-fuel engine for weapons capable of reaching the U.S. mainland, and called it a significant development boosting his country’s strategic military arsenal, state media reported Sunday. While the test was in line with Kim’s stated goal of acquiring more agile, hard-to-detect missiles targeting the U.S. and its allies, some experts speculate North Korea’s claim may be an exaggeration. Missiles with built-in solid propellants are easier to move and conceal their launches than liquid-fuel weapons, which, in general, must be fueled before liftoff and cannot last long. The official Korean Central News Agency reported that Kim watched the ground jet test of the engine using a composite carbon fiber material. It said the engine’s maximum thrust is 2,500 kilonewtons, up from about 1,970 kilonewtons reported in a similar solid-fuel engine test in September.

Thousands of Catholics went to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City to celebrate Palm Sunday Mass and mark the start of 2026 Holy Week, the first under Archbishop Ronald Hicks.  Palms inside the Midtown Manhattan cathedral recall the story or Jesus entering Jerusalem, where crowds laid palm branches before him. For Hicks, who was installed in February following Cardinal Timothy Dolan’s retirement, celebrating his first Palm Sunday on Fifth Avenue served as a reminder of the transformation Holy Week stands for.  “What happened, these mysteries we celebrate, gives us the path to salvation, eternal life. It’s the greatest gift ever,” Hicks said. “We celebrated well today, with joy, with prayer, with a great sense of faith.”

Angie Craig walks back support for Laken Riley Act as immigration remains hot issue in race for U.S. Senate

There are only two months until the DFL party’s nominating convention in Rochester, Minnesota. One of the most heated DFL races is for U.S. Senate, where two successful elected officials, Rep. Angie Craig and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, are running against each other for the seat. One of the most heated issues remains immigration, where Craig has walked back her support for the Laken Riley Act. Craig was one of 46 House Democrats who voted for the Laken Riley Act in January 2025. The act was passed in the aftermath of the murder of Laken Riley, a Georgia nursing student. The act mandates that undocumented workers be held in custody for theft-related crimes pending any criminal proceedings, even when there has not been a conviction.

Riverside County Sheriff says his election fraud investigation put on hold by “politically motivated lawsuits”

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said Sunday that his election fraud investigation into the Proposition 50 Special Election last fall has come to a halt due to legal challenges from the California attorney general.  Earlier in March, Bianco, who is running for governor, seized more than 611,000 ballots from the special election in which voters approved a redistricting measure that shifted five of California’s Republican-held seats in the U.S. House of Representatives to be more favorable to Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections. He says a citizens group pointed out a 45,000-ballot discrepancy between the number of votes that were counted and the number of votes that were cast.  “This investigation is simple: Physically count the ballots and compare that result with the total votes reported,” Bianco said during a press conference after the ballots were seized.

Tom Homan says ICE will keep assisting TSA “until the airports feel like they are 100%”

Tom Homan, the Trump administration border czar, said Sunday that although President Trump signed an order to pay Transportation Security Administration workers, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will continue to assist “until the airports feel like they are 100%.”  “Look, we’re going to continue a nice presence there, and until the airports feel like they’re 100%, you know, in a posture where they can do no normal operations,” Homan said Sunday on “Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan.”  Congress has yet to approve funding for the Department of Homeland Security, which has been shut down for more than 40 days. Early Friday morning, the Senate passed a bill to fund DHS that did not include money for ICE and other immigration removal. The House rejected that bill and instead passed its own version, which would extend funding for the entire department, including ICE, for 60 days. The dueling bills leave the shutdown without an end in sight.

Judge dismisses DOJ lawsuit over Minnesota in-state tuition for students without legal status, leaving US Citizens to Foot the Bill

judge signing on the papers

Minnesota public universities can continue to offer in-state tuition and scholarships to some immigrants in the country without legal status, a federal judge ruled on Friday, dismissing a lawsuit filed by the Department of Justice last summer that attempted to halt the programs. The decision follows a series of clashes between the federal government and Minnesota officials over immigration enforcement. United States District Judge Katherine Menendez said in her decision that the federal government failed to prove that programs offering in-state tuition for immigrants without legal status discriminated against U.S. citizens.

A brother offended is more difficult than a fortified city. Disputes are like the bars of a fortress.

This verse reveals the deep pain and resistance that comes from broken relationships. When someone is wounded, especially by a close friend or family member, their heart can become like a fortified city, guarded and difficult to reach. Betrayal builds walls that are far harder to tear down than physical barriers. This verse reminds us to handle relationships with care, humility, and wisdom, because reconciliation is often much harder than prevention.

Palm Sunday; The King Who Came Differently

bunch of green palm leaves on lime background

Palm Sunday is the hallmark for the beginning of the most important week in human history. This was the moment when Jesus entered Jerusalem, not in secrecy, but in fulfillment of prophecy, revealing Himself as King. However, the way He came to earth challenged every expectation. Today, we are invited to examine not only who Jesus is, but whether we are truly receiving Him as He is.

📖Bible Verses

  • “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”Mark 11:9
  • “See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey.”Zechariah 9:9
  • “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”Luke 19:38

Palm Sunday is a moment that is filled with excitement, celebration, and deep spiritual significance. Jesus entered Jerusalem as crowds gathered, laying down palm branches and cloaks, shouting praises and declaring Him King. It appears to be a triumphant moment, and it was, but not in the way people expected.

The people had been waiting for a Messiah, the one who is ordained by God to lead the people of Israel. For generations, they had dreamt of being freed from oppression, especially from under Roman rule. They expected a powerful leader, someone who would overthrow the tyrannical governments, establish dominance, and restore Israel’s national glory. So when Jesus entered the city, performing miracles and teaching with authority, hope surged through the crowd.

But Jesus didn’t come riding a war horse. He came on a donkey.

This was not a small detail, it is deeply symbolic. In ancient times, kings would ride a horse into battle, but they only rode donkeys in times of peace. When Jesus did this He was declaring something powerful: His declaration was indeed He was King, but He was not the kind of king they expected. He came not to conquer nations, but to conquer sin. Not to overthrow Rome, but to defeat death. This reveals one of the central tensions of Palm Sunday: the difference between expectation and reality.

The crowd was shouting “Hosanna,” which means “save us now.” But their understanding of salvation was significantly limited. They expected immediate relief from their circumstances, not transformation of their hearts. They wanted a political solution, while Jesus came to provide an eternal one.

And here is where this story became personal.

How often do we approach Jesus with our own expectations? We want Him to fix our problems, change our situations, remove discomfort, but we resist when He begins to change us. Like the crowd, we may praise Him in one moment and question Him in the next when He doesn’t meet our expectations. Palm Sunday challenges us to ask: Do we truly want Jesus as King, or just as a helper?

Another powerful truth is how quickly public opinion can change. The same crowd that shouted “Hosanna” would a few days later, cry out “Crucify Him.” This should show us the instability of emotional faith. It is so easy to praise God when things look promising, but the second something gets hard, what happens when the path leads to difficulty?

Jesus knew exactly what He was walking into. He knew the punishment of the cross was coming. However He still entered Jerusalem willingly. He did not avoid the pain, He walked straight toward it. This is the heart of the Gospel: a Savior who does not run from suffering, but embraces it for the sake of others.

Palm Sunday is not just about celebration, it is about the beginning of sacrifice.

As Jesus entered the city, He also wept over it; When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it. Luke 19:41. While the people rejoiced, Jesus grieved. Why? Because He knew many would miss the true meaning of His coming. They were close to salvation, yet far from understanding. This is a sobering reminder that it is possible to be near Jesus, yet not truly know Him.

The palm branches symbolize victory and triumph. The people were declaring victory, but they didn’t yet understand what that victory was or how it would come. True victory would not come through force, but through surrender. Not through power, but through sacrifice. Not through taking life, but through giving it.

Jesus redefined what it means to win.

Palm Sunday invites us into true redefinition. It calls us to lay down our expectations, our control, and our limited understanding and to receive Jesus fully as He is. It calls us to respond. The people laid down their cloaks, symbolically placing their lives before Him. This act represents surrender, honor, and submission. They were making a path for the King.

The question for us today is:

  • What are we laying down before Jesus?
  • Are we willing to lay down our pride?
  • Our plans?
  • Our need for control?
  • Are we willing to follow Him, even when the path leads to a cross before it leads to a resurrection?

Palm Sunday is not the end of the story, it is the beginning of a journey that leads to Good Friday and ultimately to Easter Sunday.

The King has come. But He comes differently than expected.

  • He comes in humility.
  • He comes in peace.
  • He comes with a mission to save, not just temporarily, but eternally.

And He still comes today, asking to enter not just a city, but our hearts.

Thought to Ponder:

Take time today to intentionally “lay something down” before Jesus, whether it’s control, fear, a plan, or a burden. Surrender it in prayer and invite Him to truly be King over that area.

Journaling Prompt:

Where in my life have I placed expectations on Jesus instead of surrendering to His will? What does it look like for me to fully receive Him as King?

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for coming as our King, humble, loving, and full of purpose. Forgive us for the times we have misunderstood You or tried to shape You into our expectations. Teach us to surrender fully, to trust Your plan, and to follow You with unwavering faith. As we enter this Holy Week, prepare our hearts to walk with You, from the celebration to the cross, and ultimately to the victory of the resurrection. In Jesus Name Amen

KP Sharma Oli: Nepal’s former prime minister arrested over alleged role in deadly protest crackdown

Nepal’s former prime minister KP Sharma Oli was arrested early on Saturday morning over his alleged role in the deaths of dozens of people who took part in the gen Z protest that toppled his government last year. Police detained the three-time former prime minister at his residence in the capital Kathmandu, and also arrested his former home affairs minister Ramesh Lekhak. The arrests came less than 24 hours after Nepal’s new prime minister, Balendra Shah, and his cabinet were sworn into office. Shah, a former rapper turned politician known widely as Balen, won a landslide victory this month with a campaign that promised justice for the killings that took place during the gen Z uprising last year and to crack down on corruption.

This verse reminds us that God’s desire is not destruction, but repentance and that even in rejection, His mercy still mourns for us.
